于是到了撒玛利亚的一座城，名叫叙加，靠近雅各给他儿子约瑟的那块地。

以色列人从埃及所带来约瑟的骸骨，葬埋在示剑，就是在雅各从前用一百块银子向示剑的父亲、哈抹的子孙所买的那块地里；这就作了约瑟子孙的产业。

却要认所恶之妻生的儿子为长子，将产业多加一份给他；因这儿子是他力量强壮的时候生的，长子的名分本当归他。”

主耶和华如此说：“你们要照地的境界，按以色列十二支派分地为业。约瑟必得两份。

耶和华以色列的神在他百姓以色列面前赶出亚摩利人，你竟要得他们的地吗？

到了第四代，他们必回到此地，因为亚摩利人的罪孽还没有满盈。”

夺了他们的羊群、牛群，和驴，并城里田间所有的；

“我从以色列人面前除灭亚摩利人。他虽高大如香柏树，坚固如橡树，我却上灭他的果子，下绝他的根本。

犹大胜过一切弟兄，君王也是从他而出；长子的名分却归约瑟。

就用一百块银子向示剑的父亲、哈抹的子孙买了支帐棚的那块地，

约瑟的子孙对约书亚说：“耶和华到如今既然赐福与我们，我们也族大人多，你为什么仅将一阄一段之地分给我们为业呢？”约书亚说：“你们如果族大人多，嫌以法莲山地窄小，就可以上比利洗人、利乏音人之地，在树林中砍伐树木。”约瑟的子孙说：“那山地容不下我们，并且住平原的迦南人，就是住伯善和属伯善的镇市，并住耶斯列平原的人，都有铁车。”约书亚对约瑟家，就是以法莲和玛拿西人，说：“你是族大人多，并且强盛，不可仅有一阄之地，山地也要归你，虽是树林，你也可以砍伐；靠近之地必归你。迦南人虽有铁车，虽是强盛，你也能把他们赶出去。”
