Some time later Joseph was told,“ Your father is ill.” So he took his two sons Manasseh and Ephraim along with him.

此後約伯又活了一百四十年，得見他的兒孫到四代。

約瑟在埃及地生了瑪拿西和以法蓮，就是安城祭司波提非拉的女兒亞西納給約瑟生的：

願你看見你兒女的兒女。願平安興隆歸於以色列。

饑荒年頭未到以前，約瑟生了兩個兒子，就是安城祭司波提非拉的女兒亞西納給他生的。約瑟給長子起名叫瑪拿西，因為他說：『上帝使我忘卻了我一切困苦、和我父全家。』。他給老二起名叫以法蓮，因為他說：『上帝使我在受苦難之地果實昌盛。』

約瑟見了以法蓮系的第三代子孫；瑪拿西的兒子瑪吉的兒子們也是養在約瑟膝上的。

她姊妹兩個就差遣人去見耶穌說：『主啊，請看，你所愛的人病了。』
