Some time later Joseph was told,“ Your father is ill.” So he took his two sons Manasseh and Ephraim along with him.

荒年到来前，安城祭司波提非拉的女儿亚西纳给约瑟生了两个儿子。约瑟给长子取名叫玛拿西，因为他说：“上帝使我忘记一切的困苦和我父亲家。”约瑟给次子取名叫以法莲，因为他说：“上帝使我在受苦之地昌盛。”

他看到了以法莲的孙子，也曾把玛拿西的儿子玛吉的孩子抱在膝上。

她们姊妹两个托人去告诉耶稣，说：“主啊，你所爱的人病了！”
