約瑟安頓他的父親和兄弟，遵照法老的命令，把埃及境內最好的地，就是蘭塞地，給他們作為產業。

你也要從百姓中選出有才能的人，敬畏上帝、誠實可靠、恨惡不義之財的人，派他們作千夫長、百夫長、五十夫長、十夫長來管理百姓。

你看見辦事殷勤的人嗎？他必侍立在君王面前，不在平庸的人面前。

他們又對法老說：「迦南地的饑荒非常嚴重，僕人的羊羣沒有牧草，所以我們來到這地寄居。現在求你准許僕人住在歌珊地。」

摩西從以色列人中選出有才能的人，立他們為百姓的領袖，作千夫長、百夫長、五十夫長、十夫長。

你們與我們同住吧！這地都在你們面前，只管在這裏居住，做買賣，置產業。」

但那不把耶和華這話放在心上的，就把他的奴僕和牲畜留在田裏。

看哪，耶和華的手必以嚴重的瘟疫加在你田間的牲畜上，就是在馬、驢、駱駝、牛羣和羊羣的身上。耶和華卻要分別以色列的牲畜和埃及的牲畜，凡屬以色列人的，一隻都不死。』」耶和華就設定時間，說：「明天耶和華必在此地行這事。」第二天，耶和華行了這事。埃及的牲畜全都死了，只是以色列人的牲畜，一隻都沒有死。

因為你曾賜給他權柄掌管凡血肉之軀的，使他把永生賜給你所賜給他的人。

遍地不都在你眼前嗎？請你離開我吧！你向左，我就向右；你向右，我就向左。」

當日，有掃羅的一個臣僕在那裏，他留在耶和華的面前，名叫多益，是以東人，作掃羅的畜牧長。

管理沙崙牧放牛羣的是沙崙人施提萊。管理山谷牧養牛羣的是亞第萊的兒子沙法。管理駱駝羣的是以實瑪利人阿比勒。管理驢羣的是米崙人耶希底亞。管理羊羣的是夏甲人雅悉。這些都是為大衛王管理產業的領袖。

摩西和亞倫取了爐灰，站在法老面前。摩西把它撒在空中，人和牲畜的身上就起泡生瘡了。

亞比米勒說：「看哪，我的地都在你面前，你看為好的地方就居住吧。」

他在曠野建築瞭望樓，又挖了許多井，因為他在謝非拉和平原有很多牲畜。他在山區和肥沃的土地雇用耕種田地和修整葡萄園的人，因為他喜愛土地。

請你們的父親和你們的家屬都到我這裏來，我要把埃及地的美物賜給你們，你們也要吃這地肥美的出產。』你要吩咐他們：『要這樣做：從埃及地帶着車輛去，把你們的孩子和妻子，以及你們的父親都接來。你們的眼不要顧惜你們的家具，因為埃及全地的美物都是你們的。』」

約瑟說：「銀子若是用完了，可以把你們的牲畜賣給我，我就以你們的牲畜換糧食給你們。」

王的心在耶和華手中像河水，他能使它隨意流轉。
