約瑟遵照法老之命把埃及最好的地方——蘭塞境內的土地給他父親和弟兄們居住，作他們的產業。

此外，要在百姓當中挑選一些敬畏上帝、有才幹、誠實、正直、憎惡不義之財的人，派他們做千夫長、百夫長、五十夫長和十夫長，管理百姓。

你看那精明能幹的人，他必侍立在君王面前，不會效力於泛泛之輩。

迦南的饑荒很嚴重，羊群沒有草吃，所以我們到這裡來寄居，求你准許僕人們住在歌珊。」

從百姓中挑選有才幹的人，委派他們做千夫長、百夫長、五十夫長和十夫長管理百姓。

因為你把管理世人的權柄賜給了祂，使祂可以將永生賜予你交託給祂的人。

整片土地不就在你面前嗎？我們分開吧。如果你往左邊去，我就往右邊走；如果你往右邊去，我就往左邊走。」

那天，掃羅的司牧長以東人多益碰巧在耶和華的會幕。

沙崙人施提萊管理沙崙的牛群。亞第萊的兒子沙法管理山谷中的牛群。以實瑪利人阿比勒管理駱駝群。米崙人耶希底亞管理驢群。夏甲人雅悉管理羊群。以上這些人都是替大衛王管理產業的。

摩西和亞倫便取了一些窯裡的灰，站在法老面前，摩西把灰拋向空中，埃及人和牲畜身上就開始起皰長瘡。

又對他說：「我的國土就在你面前，你想住在哪裡都可以。」

又在曠野建造瞭望塔，挖了許多水井，因為他在高原和平原有很多牲畜。他雇人在山區和沃野為他耕種和照料葡萄園，因為他喜愛農耕。

把你們的父親和家眷都接到我這裡。我要把埃及最好的土地賜給他們，讓他們享受這裡肥美的物產。吩咐你的弟兄從埃及帶著車去把他們的妻子、兒女和你們的父親接來。不要擔心你們在迦南的產業，因為埃及全國的美物都是你們的。」

約瑟說：「你們的錢財如果用盡了，可以用你們的牲畜來交換糧食。」

耶和華掌管君王的心，易如支配壟溝的流水。
