And the time drew nigh that Israel must die: and he called his son Joseph, and said unto him, If now I have found grace in thy sight, put, I pray thee, thy hand under my thigh, and deal kindly and truly with me; bury me not, I pray thee, in Egypt:

And Abraham said unto his eldest servant of his house, that ruled over all that he had, Put, I pray thee, thy hand under my thigh:

And the LORD said unto Moses, Behold, thy days approach that thou must die: call Joshua, and present yourselves in the tabernacle of the congregation, that I may give him a charge. And Moses and Joshua went, and presented themselves in the tabernacle of the congregation.

Now the days of David drew nigh that he should die; and he charged Solomon his son, saying,

And Joseph said unto his brethren, I die: and God will surely visit you, and bring you out of this land unto the land which he sware to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.And Joseph took an oath of the children of Israel, saying, God will surely visit you, and ye shall carry up my bones from hence.

None[ of them] can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him:

[ Is there] not an appointed time to man upon earth?[ are not] his days also like the days of an hireling?

And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

That he should still live for ever,[ and] not see corruption.

What man[ is he that] liveth, and shall not see death? shall he deliver his soul from the hand of the grave? Selah.

If a man die, shall he live[ again]? all the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come.

So Jacob went down into Egypt, and died, he, and our fathers,And were carried over into Sychem, and laid in the sepulchre that Abraham bought for a sum of money of the sons of Emmor[ the father] of Sychem.

By faith Joseph, when he died, made mention of the departing of the children of Israel; and gave commandment concerning his bones.

For we must needs die, and[ are] as water spilt on the ground, which cannot be gathered up again; neither doth God respect[ any] person: yet doth he devise means, that his banished be not expelled from him.

For in death[ there is] no remembrance of thee: in the grave who shall give thee thanks?

In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou[ art], and unto dust shalt thou return.

For I know[ that] thou wilt bring me[ to] death, and[ to] the house appointed for all living.

And Jacob said unto Pharaoh, The days of the years of my pilgrimage[ are] an hundred and thirty years: few and evil have the days of the years of my life been, and have not attained unto the days of the years of the life of my fathers in the days of their pilgrimage.

And when thy days be fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, I will set up thy seed after thee, which shall proceed out of thy bowels, and I will establish his kingdom.
