按着定命，人人都要死一次，死后还有审判。

使他永远活着，不见朽坏。

有哪一个人能长活不死，能救自己的性命脱离阴间的权势呢？（细拉）

人若死了，怎能再活呢？我要在我一切劳苦的日子等待，等到我得释放的时候来到。

于是雅各下了埃及。后来他和我们祖先都死了，运到示剑，埋葬在亚伯拉罕用银子向哈抹子孙买来的坟地里。

因着信，约瑟临终的时候，提到以色列子民出埃及的事，并且为自己的骸骨留下遗言。

我们都是必死的，像水泼在地上不能收回来一样；但神并不取去人的命，反而设法使逃亡的人不致永远离开他逃亡。

因为在死亡之地无人记念你，在阴间有谁称谢你呢？

你必汗流满面，才有饭吃，直到你归回地土，因为你是从地土取出来的；你既然是尘土，就要归回尘土。”

我知道你必使我归回死地，归到那为众生所定的阴宅。

雅各回答法老：“我寄居在世的年日是一百三十岁。我一生的年日又少又苦，不及我祖先寄居在世的年日。”

到了你的寿数满足，你与你的列祖一起长眠的时候，我必兴起你亲生的后裔接替你，并且我要坚固他的国。
