何忍見我死而田荒、請以糧購我及我田、我與我田、効力於法老、第給我以種、使我延生不死、而田不荒、○

主何忍見我身死、而田不治、願以身及田易粟、我與吾田、為法老所得、第給我以種、田不至於荒蕪、命不至於死亡。

我主豈忍見我身死田荒、請以糧易我身與田、我願為法老之奴、亦願我田歸於法老、第給我以種、使我得生、免於死亡、田亦不致荒蕪、

Why should we perish before your eyes— we and our land as well? Buy us and our land in exchange for food, and we with our land will be in bondage to Pharaoh. Give us seed so that we may live and not die, and that the land may not become desolate.”

What good would it do you to watch us die? Why should our land be destroyed? Trade us food for ourselves and our land. Then we and our land will belong to Pharaoh. Give us some seeds so we can live and not die. We don’t want the land to become a desert.”

有的说：“我们和儿女人口众多，必须得粮食吃，才能活下去。”有的说：“我们典押了田地、葡萄园、房屋，才得粮食充饥。”

她的百姓都叹息，寻求食物；他们用贵重物品换取粮食，要救性命。“耶和华啊，求你观看，留意我多么卑微。”

因旷野有刀剑，我们冒生命的危险才能得粮食。

不但如此，我已把万事当作是有损的，因我以认识我主基督耶稣为至宝。我为他已经丢弃万事，看作粪土，为要赢得基督，并且得以在他里面，不是有自己因律法而得的义，而是有信基督的义，就是基于信，从上帝而来的义，

我们束手投降埃及和亚述，为要得粮吃饱。

人若赚得全世界，赔上自己的生命，有什么益处呢？人还能拿什么换生命呢？
