I will go down to Egypt with you, and I will surely bring you back again. And Joseph’s own hand will close your eyes.”

So I have come down to rescue them from the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land into a good and spacious land, a land flowing with milk and honey— the home of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites. (niv)

Then Israel said to Joseph,“ I am about to die, but God will be with you and take you back to the land of your fathers. (niv)

‘ My father made me swear an oath and said,“ I am about to die; bury me in the tomb I dug for myself in the land of Canaan.” Now let me go up and bury my father; then I will return.’” (niv)

But now, this is what the Lord says— he who created you, Jacob, he who formed you, Israel:“ Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine.When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. (niv)

Then Joseph said to his brothers,“ I am about to die. But God will surely come to your aid and take you up out of this land to the land he promised on oath to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.”And Joseph made the Israelites swear an oath and said,“ God will surely come to your aid, and then you must carry my bones up from this place.” (niv)

They carried him to the land of Canaan and buried him in the cave in the field of Machpelah, near Mamre, which Abraham had bought along with the field as a burial place from Ephron the Hittite. (niv)

But I will punish the nation they serve as slaves, and afterward they will come out with great possessions.You, however, will go to your ancestors in peace and be buried at a good old age.In the fourth generation your descendants will come back here, for the sin of the Amorites has not yet reached its full measure.” (niv)
