她又怀孕，生了一个儿子，就说：“耶和华因为听见我被嫌弃，所以又赐给我这个儿子。”于是给孩子起名为西缅。

雅各对西缅和利未说：“你们给我带来了祸患，使我在这地的居民，就是在迦南人和比利洗人中间，有了臭名。我的人数稀少，如果他们聚集起来对付我、攻击我，我和我家就会被除灭。”

以撒叫来雅各，祝福了他，又吩咐他说：“你不要从迦南的女子中娶妻。

到了第三天，当他们正疼痛的时候，雅各的两个儿子，就是狄娜的哥哥西缅和利未，各拿刀剑，在全城毫无戒备的时候进去，把所有的男子都杀了。

西缅和利未是兄弟，他们的刀剑是残暴的武器。愿我的灵不进入他们的密会，愿我的荣耀不参加他们的聚集；因为他们在怒气中杀人，又任意挑断牛腿筋。他们的怒气实在凶猛，应当受诅，他们的盛怒实在暴烈，应当被咒。我要把他们分在雅各家，分散在以色列中。
