因着他们的工作，要在爱中格外地看重他们。你们要彼此和睦。

他们彼此说：“我们在弟弟的事上实在有罪。他恳求我们的时候，我们见他心中苦楚，却不肯听，所以现在这苦楚临到我们了。”鲁本就回应他们，说：“我不是对你们说过：‘不要对那孩子犯罪’吗？可是你们不肯听；看哪，他的血债现在来追讨了！”

因此，你们身为蒙神拣选、圣洁和蒙爱的人，就应当穿上怜悯的心肠，以及仁慈、谦卑、温柔、耐心。如果一个人对另一个人怀有不满，总要彼此容忍，互相饶恕。正如主饶恕了你们，你们也当如此。

看哪，弟兄们合一居住，是多么美好，多么美妙——这就像浇在亚伦头上贵重的膏油，流到他的胡须，又流到他的衣襟；又像黑门的甘露降在锡安的众山上——因为在那里，耶和华命定了祝福，就是永远的生命。

“我给你们一条新的命令：就是要你们彼此相爱，就如我爱你们，为要使你们也彼此相爱。如果你们彼此之间有了爱，众人从这一点就会知道你们是我的门徒了。”

你们要除掉一切苦毒、暴怒、愤怒、喧嚷、毁谤，以及一切的恶毒；要以仁慈彼此相待，心存怜悯，互相饶恕，就像神在基督里饶恕了你们那样。

你们就要同心合意——爱心一致、灵里一致、意念一致，好使我的喜乐得以满足。做任何事都不要出于争竞，也不可出于虚荣，而要以谦卑的心，各人看别人比自己强；每个人不要只注重自己的事，也要注重别人的事。你们应当有这样的意念，这也是基督耶稣的意念。

又对他们说：“不可杀人流血！可以把他丢进这旷野的坑里，只是不可向他下手。”鲁本这样说，是要救约瑟脱离他们的手，把他带回父亲那里。
