又因為他們的工作，你們要用愛心格外尊重他們。你們應當彼此和睦。

他們彼此說：“我們在對待弟弟的事上實在有罪。他向我們求情的時候，我們看見他心裡的痛苦，卻不肯聽他，所以這次苦難臨到我們身上了。”流本回答他們，說：“我不是對你們說過：‘不要傷害那孩子’嗎？可是你們不肯聽，現在流他血的罪要向我們追討。”

所以，你們既然是神所揀選的，是聖潔、蒙愛的人，就要存憐憫的心腸、恩慈、謙卑、溫柔和忍耐。如果有人對別人有嫌隙，總要彼此寬容，互相饒恕；主怎樣饒恕了你們，你們也要照樣饒恕人。

看哪！弟兄和睦共處，是多麼的善，多麼的美。（本節在《馬索拉文本》包括細字標題）這好比那珍貴的油澆在亞倫的頭上，流到鬍鬚，又從亞倫的鬍鬚，流到他的衣領上。又好比黑門的甘露落在錫安的眾山上，在那裡有耶和華命定的福，就是永遠的生命。

我給你們一條新命令，就是要你們彼此相愛；我怎樣愛你們，你們也要怎樣彼此相愛。如果你們彼此相愛，眾人就會認出你們是我的門徒了。”

一切苛刻、惱怒、暴戾、嚷鬧、毀謗，連同一切惡毒，都應當從你們中間除掉。要互相友愛，存溫柔的心，彼此饒恕，就像神在基督裡饒恕了你們一樣。

就應當有同樣的思想，同樣的愛心，要心志相同，思想一致，使我充滿喜樂。不要自私自利，也不要貪圖虛榮，只要謙卑，看別人比自己強；各人不要單顧自己的事，也要顧別人的事。你們應當有這樣的思想，這也是基督耶穌的思想。（全節或譯：“你們當以基督耶穌的心為心。”）

流本又對他們說：“不可流他的血，可以把他丟在這曠野的枯井裡，不可下手害他。”流本的意思是要救他脫離他們的手，把他帶回去給他的父親。
