Is it not from this that my lord drinks, and by this that he practices divination? You have done evil in doing this.’”

此器非吾主所用以飲、而藉以卜者乎、爾行此事、是不良也、

吾主所飲之器、用以卜者、豈非此耶。爾行是、不良孰甚。

我主所飲、用以占卜者、豈非此爵乎、爾之所為實惡、

Isn’t this the cup my master drinks from and also uses for divination? This is a wicked thing you have done.’”

Isn’t this the cup my master drinks from? Doesn’t he also use it to find things out? You have done an evil thing.’ ”

Why have you stolen my master’s silver cup, which he uses to predict the future? What a wicked thing you have done!’”

Isn’t this the cup that my master drinks from and uses for divination? What you have done is wrong!’”

Is this not that from which my lord drinks, and which he indeed uses for divination? You have done wrong in doing this!’ ”

Is not this the one from which my Lord drinks, and with which he indeed practices divination? You have done evil in so doing.’”

Is not this that in which my lord drinketh, and whereby he indeed divineth? ye have done evil in so doing.

Isn’t this the cup that my master drinks from and uses for divination? What you have done is wrong!’”

[ Is] not this[ it] in which my lord drinketh, and whereby indeed he divineth? ye have done evil in so doing.

Doesn’t my master drink from this cup and use it for divination? You have done wrong!’”

Isn’t this that from which my lord drinks, and by which he indeed divines? You have done evil in so doing.’”

But Laban said to him,“ If I have found favor in your sight, I have learned by divination that the Lord has blessed me because of you.

Joseph said to them,“ What deed is this that you have done? Do you not know that a man like me can indeed practice divination?”

“ You shall not eat any flesh with the blood in it. You shall not interpret omens or tell fortunes.

And he burned his son as an offering and used fortune-telling and omens and dealt with mediums and with necromancers. He did much evil in the sight of the Lord, provoking him to anger.

Now the men were watching for a sign, and they quickly took it up from him and said,“ Yes, your brother Ben-hadad.” Then he said,“ Go and bring him.” Then Ben-hadad came out to him, and he caused him to come up into the chariot.

There shall not be found among you anyone who burns his son or his daughter as an offering, anyone who practices divination or tells fortunes or interprets omens, or a sorcereror a charmer or a medium or a necromancer or one who inquires of the dead,for whoever does these things is an abomination to the Lord. And because of these abominations the Lord your God is driving them out before you.You shall be blameless before the Lord your God,for these nations, which you are about to dispossess, listen to fortune-tellers and to diviners. But as for you, the Lord your God has not allowed you to do this.
