此器非吾主所用以飲、而藉以卜者乎、爾行此事、是不良也、

吾主所飲之器、用以卜者、豈非此耶。爾行是、不良孰甚。

拉班卻挽留他，說：「如果你肯賞光，請你留下來！因為我占卜得知上帝為了你的緣故才賜福給我。

約瑟對他們說：「你們做的是什麼事？難道你們不知道像我這樣的人是懂得占卜的嗎？」

「不可吃帶血的肉，不可占卜或行巫術。

他燒死自己的兒子，獻作祭物；他行邪術，占卜，求問靈媒和巫師，做了許多耶和華視為惡的事，惹耶和華發怒。

他們聽見亞哈的口氣溫和，連忙附和說：「是啊，便·哈達是王的兄弟。」亞哈便吩咐他們去把便·哈達帶來見他，然後讓便·哈達登上他的戰車。

你們當中不可有人焚燒自己的子女作祭物，不可有人占卜、算命、作法、行邪術、念咒、做靈媒、行巫術或求問亡靈。凡做這些事的人都是耶和華所憎惡的。正是因為當地的民族做這些可憎之事，你們的上帝耶和華才要當著你們的面把他們趕走。你們要在你們的上帝耶和華面前純全無過。「你們將要趕走的那些民族聽信術士和巫師，但你們的上帝耶和華不准你們仿效他們。
