雅各之妻拉结的儿子是约瑟和便雅悯。

他们从伯特利起行，到以法他还有一段路程，拉结生产，生得十分艰难。她生得十分艰难的时候，接生婆对她说：“不要怕，你又要有一个儿子了。”她快要死，还有一口气的时候，就给她儿子起名叫便‧俄尼；他父亲却给他起名叫便雅悯。

上帝顾念拉结，应允她，使她能生育。拉结怀孕生子，说：“上帝除去了我的羞耻。”拉结就给他起名叫约瑟，说：“愿耶和华再增添一个儿子给我。”拉结生约瑟之后，雅各对拉班说：“请让我走，回到我的本乡本土去。

雅各就这样做了。满了利亚的七日，拉班就把女儿拉结给雅各为妻。

雅各爱拉结，就说：“我愿为你的小女儿拉结服事你七年。”拉班说：“我把她给你，胜过给别人，你与我同住吧！”雅各就为拉结服事了七年；他因为爱拉结，就看这七年如同几天。雅各对拉班说：“日期已经满了，请把我的妻子给我，我好与她同房。”
