And we answered,‘ We have an aged father, and there is a young son born to him in his old age. His brother is dead, and he is the only one of his mother’s sons left, and his father loves him.’

And his father wept for him.

And it came to pass, as her soul was departing( for she died), that she called his name Ben- oni: but his father called him Benjamin.

And Jacob their father said unto them, Me have ye bereaved of my children: Joseph is not, and Simeon is not, and ye will take Benjamin away: all these things are against me.

And they said, We thy servants are twelve brethren, the sons of one man in the land of Canaan; and, behold, the youngest is this day with our father, and one is not.

And the sons of Benjamin: Bela, and Becher, and Ashbel, Gera, and Naaman, Ehi, and Rosh, Muppim, and Huppim, and Ard.

Judah, thee shall thy brethren praise: Thy hand shall be on the neck of thine enemies; Thy father’s sons shall bow down before thee.

And they said one to another, Behold, this dreamer cometh.

And thy servant my father said unto us, Ye know that my wife bare me two sons:and the one went out from me, and I said, Surely he is torn in pieces; and I have not seen him since:and if ye take this one also from me, and harm befall him, ye will bring down my gray hairs with sorrow to Sheol.Now therefore when I come to thy servant my father, and the lad is not with us; seeing that his life is bound up in the lad’s life;
