“ What can we say to you?” Judah replied.“ What can we say? How can we prove we haven’t done anything wrong? God has shown you that we are guilty. We are now your slaves. All of us are, including the one found to have the cup.”

犹大说：“我们对我主说什么呢？还有什么话可说呢？我们怎能自己表白出来呢？神已经查出仆人的罪孽了。我们与那在他手中搜出杯来的都是我主的奴仆。”

犹大说：“我们对我主能说什么呢？还有什么话可说呢？我们还能为自己表白吗？上帝已经查出你仆人的罪孽了。看哪，我们与那在他手中找到杯子的人都是我主的奴隶。”

犹大说：“我们对我主能说什么呢？还有什么话可说呢？我们还能为自己表白吗？神已经查出你仆人的罪孽了。看哪，我们与那在他手中找到杯子的人都是我主的奴隶。”

犹大说：“我们能对我主说什么呢？我们还有什么话可说呢？我们如何洗脱罪名呢？上帝既然查出你仆人们的罪，我们跟那个被发现有银杯的弟弟一起做我主的奴仆吧！”

犹大说：“我们对我主可以说什么呢？我们还有什么可说的呢？我们怎能证明自己是清白的呢？神已经查出你仆人们的罪孽了。看哪，我们和那在他手里搜出杯来的，都是我主的奴仆了。”

犹大说：“我们能对我主说什么呢？我们还能说什么呢？我们怎能证明自己无辜呢？神找出了你仆人们的罪孽。看哪，无论是我们还是从他手中找到杯子的那个人，现在都是我主的奴仆了！”

猶大說：「我們對我主說甚麼呢？還有甚麼話可說呢？我們怎能自己表白出來呢？神已經查出僕人的罪孽了。我們與那在他手中搜出杯來的都是我主的奴僕。」

猶大說：「我們對我主能說甚麼呢？還有甚麼話可說呢？我們還能為自己表白嗎？上帝已經查出你僕人的罪孽了。看哪，我們與那在他手中找到杯子的人都是我主的奴隸。」

猶大說：「我們對我主能說甚麼呢？還有甚麼話可說呢？我們還能為自己表白嗎？神已經查出你僕人的罪孽了。看哪，我們與那在他手中找到杯子的人都是我主的奴隸。」

猶大說：「我們能對我主說什麼呢？我們還有什麼話可說呢？我們如何洗脫罪名呢？上帝既然查出你僕人們的罪，我們跟那個被發現有銀杯的弟弟一起做我主的奴僕吧！」

猶大說：“我們對我主可以說甚麼呢？我們還有甚麼可說的呢？我們怎能證明自己是清白的呢？神已經查出你僕人們的罪孽了。看哪，我們和那在他手裡搜出杯來的，都是我主的奴僕了。”

猶大說：『我們對我主還說甚麼呢？還有甚麼話可說呢？我們怎能自表為正直呢？上帝已經查出僕人的罪孽了。看哪，我們都是我主的奴僕了：不但那杯在他手中找着的那人而已，我們也都是。』

猶大說：「我們能對我主說什麼呢？我們還能說什麼呢？我們怎能證明自己無辜呢？神找出了你僕人們的罪孽。看哪，無論是我們還是從他手中找到杯子的那個人，現在都是我主的奴僕了！」

猶大曰、我儕於主、夫復何言、尚有何辭、焉能自解、上帝摘僕之咎、獲爵於其手者、與我儕咸為主之奴、

猶大曰、我儕告主、豈尚有言辭、焉能自伸、上帝摘僕之咎。遇有爵於其手者、與我儕咸為主之奴。

猶大曰、天主察僕等之罪、我儕於我主前尚有何言、尚有何辯、尚能自明無罪乎、獲爵於其手者、則彼與我儕咸為我主之奴、

“ What can we say to my lord?” Judah replied.“ What can we say? How can we prove our innocence? God has uncovered your servants’ guilt. We are now my lord’s slaves— we ourselves and the one who was found to have the cup.”

And Judah said,“ What shall we say to my lord? What shall we speak? Or how can we clear ourselves? God has found out the guilt of your servants; behold, we are my lord’s servants, both we and he also in whose hand the cup has been found.”

Judah answered,“ Oh, my lord, what can we say to you? How can we explain this? How can we prove our innocence? God is punishing us for our sins. My lord, we have all returned to be your slaves— all of us, not just our brother who had your cup in his sack.”

“ What can we say to my lord?” Judah replied.“ How can we plead? How can we justify ourselves? God has exposed your servants’ iniquity. We are now my lord’s slaves— both we and the one in whose possession the cup was found.”

So Judah said,“ What can we say to my lord? What words can we speak? And how can we justify ourselves? God has found out the guilt of your servants; behold, we are my lord’s slaves, both we and the one in whose possession the cup has been found.”

Then Judah said,“ What shall we say to my Lord? What shall we speak? Or how shall we clear ourselves? God has found out the iniquity of your servants; here we are, my lord’s slaves, both we and he also with whom the cup was found.”

And Judah said, What shall we say unto my lord? what shall we speak? or how shall we clear ourselves? God hath found out the iniquity of thy servants: behold, we are my lord’s bondmen, both we, and he also in whose hand the cup is found.

“ What can we say to my lord?” Judah replied.“ How can we plead? How can we justify ourselves? God has exposed your servants’ iniquity. We are now my lord’s slaves— both we and the one in whose possession the cup was found.”

And Judah said, What shall we say unto my lord? what shall we speak? or how shall we clear ourselves? God hath found out the iniquity of thy servants: behold, we[ are] my lord’s servants, both we, and[ he] also with whom the cup is found.

Judah replied,“ What can we say to my lord? What can we speak? How can we clear ourselves? God has exposed the sin of your servants! We are now my lord’s slaves, we and the one in whose possession the cup was found.”

Judah said,“ What will we tell my lord? What will we speak? How will we clear ourselves? God has found out the iniquity of your servants. Behold, we are my lord’s slaves, both we and he also in whose hand the cup is found.”

If you find out that any of us has the cup, he will die. And the rest of us will become your slaves.”

“ Lord, you always do what is right. But we are covered with shame today. We are the people of Judah and Jerusalem. All of us are Israelites, no matter where we live. We are now living in many countries. You scattered us among the nations because we weren’t faithful to you.

“ But what if you fail to do your duty? Then you will be sinning against the Lord. And you may be sure that your sin will be discovered. It will be brought out into the open.

Everything that is secret will be brought out into the open. Everything that is hidden will be uncovered.

I promised my father I would keep the boy safe. I said,‘ Father, I’ll bring him back to you. If I don’t, you can put the blame on me for the rest of my life.’

The Lord hates two things. He hates it when the guilty are set free. He also hates it when those who aren’t guilty are punished.

The people of Jacob will have to pay for their sin. Here is how they will show that their sin has been removed. They will make all the altar stones like limestone. They will crush them to pieces. No poles used to worship the female god named Asherah will be left standing. No incense altars will be left either.

You will be judged in the same way you judge others. You will be measured in the same way you measure others.

They said to one another,“ God is surely punishing us because of our brother. We saw how upset he was when he begged us to let him live. But we wouldn’t listen. That’s why all this trouble has come to us.”Reuben replied,“ Didn’t I tell you not to sin against the boy? But you wouldn’t listen! Now we’re being paid back for killing him.”

Then Joseph had another dream. He told it to his brothers.“ Listen,” he said.“ I had another dream. This time the sun and moon and 11 stars were bowing down to me.”

“ I’m not worthy. How can I reply to you? I’m putting my hand over my mouth. I’ll stop talking.

But the Israelites weren’t faithful to the Lord. They didn’t destroy what had been set apart to him. So they did not do what they had been told to do. Achan had taken some of those things. So the Lord became very angry with Israel. Achan was the son of Karmi. Karmi was the son of Zimri. And Zimri was the son of Zerah. Achan and all his relatives were from the tribe of Judah.

Lord, you are the God of Israel. You are holy. You always do what is right. Today you have left many of your people alive. Here we are with all our guilt. You see the guilt of our sin. Because we have sinned, not one of us can stand in front of you.”

But they saw him a long way off. Before he reached them, they made plans to kill him.“ Here comes that dreamer!” they said to one another.“ Come. Let’s kill him. Let’s throw him into one of these empty wells. Let’s say that a wild animal ate him up. Then we’ll see whether his dreams will come true.”Reuben heard them talking. He tried to save Joseph from them.“ Let’s not take his life,” he said.“ Don’t spill any of his blood. Throw him into this empty well here in the desert. But don’t harm him yourselves.” Reuben said that to save Joseph from them. He was hoping he could take him back to his father.When Joseph came to his brothers, he was wearing his beautiful robe. They took it away from him.And they threw him into the well. The well was empty. There wasn’t any water in it.Then they sat down to eat their meal. As they did, they saw some Ishmaelite traders coming from Gilead. Their camels were loaded with spices, lotion and myrrh. They were on their way to take them down to Egypt.Judah said to his brothers,“ What will we gain if we kill our brother and try to cover up what we’ve done?Come. Let’s sell him to these traders. Let’s not harm him ourselves. After all, he’s our brother. He’s our own flesh and blood.” Judah’s brothers agreed with him.The traders from Midian came by. Joseph’s brothers pulled him up out of the well. They sold him to the Ishmaelite traders for eight ounces of silver. Then the traders took him to Egypt.

Anyone troubled by the guilt of murder will seek to escape their guilt by death. No one should keep them from it.

We were tying up bundles of grain out in the field. Suddenly my bundle stood up straight. Your bundles gathered around my bundle and bowed down to it.”

Suppose two people don’t agree about something. Then they must take their case to court. The judges will decide the case. They will let the one who isn’t guilty go free. And they will punish the one who is guilty.

When the people heard this, it had a deep effect on them. They said to Peter and the other apostles,“ Brothers, what should we do?”

Adoni- Bezek said,“ I cut off the thumbs and big toes of 70 kings. I made them pick up scraps under my table. Now God has paid me back for what I did to them.” The men of Judah brought Adoni- Bezek to Jerusalem. That’s where he died.

He had their men come forward one by one. Achan was chosen. Achan was the son of Karmi. Karmi was the son of Zimri. And Zimri was the son of Zerah. Zerah was from the tribe of Judah.

Judah spoke to Israel his father.“ Send the boy along with me,” he said.“ We’ll go right away. Then we and you and our children will live and not die.I myself promise to keep Benjamin safe. You can blame me if I don’t bring him back to you. I’ll set him right here in front of you. If I don’t, you can put the blame on me for the rest of my life.

“ You are our God. What can we say after the way you have blessed us? We have turned away from your commands.

So the Lord said,“ People of Jerusalem and Judah, you be the judge between me and my vineyard.
