Then Judah said to Israel his father,“ Send the boy along with me and we will go at once, so that we and you and our children may live and not die.

僕曰、若季弟偕往、則可、否則不可、蓋季弟不同行、則其人之面、我不能覿。

爾勿懼、我養贍爾、及爾子女、遂以善言慰藉。○

若欲入邑、則邑中饑甚、我必死、如坐於此、亦必死、寧降於亞蘭軍、若保我生、則得生、若殺我、則有死而已。

我在亞哈瓦河濱、俾眾禁食、在我上帝前、痛自怨艾、望我儕及子女、與凡所有、俱得坦途。

願流便恆存不沒、人數弗減。

敬爾父母、則可於耶和華爾上帝所賜之地、而享遐齡。

我必不死、而保其生、稱述耶和華之經綸兮、

必遵我命、以埃及之車、迎父以至、並載妻孥。

約瑟眷聚兄弟族人俱往、獨留孩稚牛羊於坷山。

曰我必不使幼子與爾偕往、其兄已亡、彼即㷀然、如途間遭害、則我皓然白首、淒涼歸墓、皆爾之過也。

爾之幼稚、爾言將被擄者、我必導入、得爾所蔑視之土、
