Then Judah said to Israel his father,“ Send the lad with me, and we will arise and go, that we may live and not die, both we and you and also our little ones.

猶大謂父以色列曰、遣孺子與我偕、即起而往、爾我暨子女、均可延生不死、

Then Judah said to Israel his father,“ Send the boy along with me and we will go at once, so that we and you and our children may live and not die.

Judah spoke to Israel his father.“ Send the boy along with me,” he said.“ We’ll go right away. Then we and you and our children will live and not die.

And Judah said to Israel his father,“ Send the boy with me, and we will arise and go, that we may live and not die, both we and you and also our little ones.

And he said,“ Indeed I have heard that there is grain in Egypt; go down to that place and buy for us there, that we may live and not die.”

And one of his servants answered and said,“ Please, let several men take five of the remaining horses which are left in the city. Look, they may either become like all the multitude of Israel that are left in it; or indeed, I say, they may become like all the multitude of Israel left from those who are consumed; so let us send them and see.”

But we said,‘ We cannot go down; if our youngest brother is with us, then we will go down; for we may not see the man’s face unless our youngest brother is with us.’

Now therefore, do not be afraid; I will provide for you and your little ones.” And he comforted them and spoke kindly to them.

If we say,‘ We will enter the city,’ the famine is in the city, and we shall die there. And if we sit here, we die also. Now therefore, come, let us surrender to the army of the Syrians. If they keep us alive, we shall live; and if they kill us, we shall only die.”

Then I proclaimed a fast there at the river of Ahava, that we might humble ourselves before our God, to seek from Him the right way for us and our little ones and all our possessions.

“ Let Reuben live, and not die, Nor let his men be few.”

“ Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the Lord your God is giving you.

I shall not die, but live, And declare the works of the Lord.

Now you are commanded— do this: Take carts out of the land of Egypt for your little ones and your wives; bring your father and come.

as well as all the house of Joseph, his brothers, and his father’s house. Only their little ones, their flocks, and their herds they left in the land of Goshen.

But your little ones, whom you said would be victims, I will bring in, and they shall know the land which you have despised.
