But at the place where we stopped for the night we opened our sacks and each of us found his silver— the exact weight— in the mouth of his sack. So we have brought it back with us.

And when we came to the lodging place we opened our sacks, and there was each man’s money in the mouth of his sack, our money in full weight. So we have brought it again with us,

But as we were returning home, we stopped for the night and opened our sacks. Then we discovered that each man’s money— the exact amount paid— was in the top of his sack! Here it is; we have brought it back with us.

And it came to pass, when we came to the inn, that we opened our sacks, and, behold,[ every] man’s money[ was] in the mouth of his sack, our money in full weight: and we have brought it again in our hand.

But when we came to the place where we spent the night, we opened our sacks and each of us found his money– the full amount– in the mouth of his sack. So we have returned it.

and take double money in your hand, and take back the money that was returned in the mouth of your sacks. Perhaps it was an oversight.

having good behavior among the nations, so in that of which they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they see, glorify God in the day of visitation.

having a good conscience. Thus, while you are spoken against as evildoers, they may be disappointed who curse your good way of life in Christ.

Be free from the love of money, content with such things as you have, for he has said,“ I will in no way leave you, neither will I in any way forsake you.”

As one of them opened his sack to give his donkey food in the lodging place, he saw his money. Behold, it was in the mouth of his sack.He said to his brothers,“ My money is restored! Behold, it is in my sack!” Their hearts failed them, and they turned trembling to one another, saying,“ What is this that God has done to us?”They came to Jacob their father, to the land of Canaan, and told him all that had happened to them, saying,“ The man, the lord of the land, spoke roughly with us, and took us for spies of the country.We said to him,‘ We are honest men. We are no spies.We are twelve brothers, sons of our father; one is no more, and the youngest is today with our father in the land of Canaan.’The man, the lord of the land, said to us,‘ By this I will know that you are honest men: leave one of your brothers with me, and take grain for the famine of your houses, and go your way.Bring your youngest brother to me. Then I will know that you are not spies, but that you are honest men. So I will deliver your brother to you, and you shall trade in the land.’”As they emptied their sacks, behold, each man’s bundle of money was in his sack. When they and their father saw their bundles of money, they were afraid.

Repay no one evil for evil. Respect what is honorable in the sight of all men.

The men took that present, and they took double money in their hand, and Benjamin; and got up, went down to Egypt, and stood before Joseph.

Owe no one anything, except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law.

Pray for us, for we are persuaded that we have a good conscience, desiring to live honorably in all things.
