When Joseph saw Benjamin with them, he said to the steward of his house,“ Take these men to my house, slaughter an animal and prepare a meal; they are to eat with me at noon.”

約瑟吩咐管家說：「給他們的袋子裝滿糧食，他們能帶多少就裝多少，並且把各人的銀子放在各自的袋子口。

他們就挨近約瑟的管家，在屋門口與他說話。

於是以撒為他們擺設宴席，他們就一起吃喝。

宰殺了牲畜，調制了酒，又擺設了筵席。

於是雅各在山上獻祭物，又叫他的兄弟們來吃飯。他們吃了飯，就在山上過夜。

我能拿我的餅、我的水，以及我為那些剪羊毛之人宰殺的肉，給我不知道來自哪裡的人嗎？」

約瑟就在他主人的眼前蒙恩，事奉他的主人。他主人指派他管理自己的家，把自己所擁有的一切都交在他的手中。自從波提乏指派約瑟管理家和所擁有的一切，耶和華就因約瑟的緣故祝福了那埃及人的家；無論在家裡或在田間，他所擁有的一切都蒙耶和華的祝福。

亞伯拉罕對管理他所有家業、家中最大的僕人說：「請你把手放在我大腿底下，我要你指著耶和華——天和地的神起誓，不可從我所住的迦南，為我的兒子娶他們的女兒為妻；而要到我的本土本族去，為我的兒子以撒娶妻。」那僕人對他說：「假如那女子不願意隨著我到這地來，那麼我必須把你的兒子帶回你離開的故土嗎？」亞伯拉罕對他說：「你要小心，不要把我的兒子帶回那裡。耶和華——天上的神對我說話，又向我起誓說：『我必把這地賜給你的後裔』；他曾帶我離開父家和本族之地。現在他必派遣使者在你前面，你就得以從那裡為我的兒子娶妻。如果那女子不願意隨著你來，我讓你起的這誓就與你無關了，只是你不可把我的兒子帶回那裡。」於是那僕人就把手放在他主人亞伯拉罕的大腿底下，為這事向他起誓。那僕人從他主人的駱駝群中取來十頭駱駝，拿著他主人的各樣美物就出發了；他起身往美索不達米亞，去拿鶴的城。

亞伯蘭說：「主耶和華啊，你要賜給我什麼呢？我一直沒有孩子，我家業的繼承人是大馬士革人以利以謝。」

他們剛出城，走了不遠，約瑟就對管家說：「起來，追趕那些人！追上後就對他們說：『你們為什麼以惡報善呢？

孩子長大了，斷了奶。在以撒斷奶的那天，亞伯拉罕擺設了盛大的宴席。
