Then he remembered his dreams about them and said to them,“ You are spies! You have come to see where our land is unprotected.”

Then Joseph remembered his dreams about them. So he said to them,“ You are spies! You have come to see the places where our land isn’t guarded very well.”

And Joseph remembered the dreams that he had dreamed of them. And he said to them,“ You are spies; you have come to see the nakedness of the land.”

And he remembered the dreams he’d had about them many years before. He said to them,“ You are spies! You have come to see how vulnerable our land has become.”

Joseph remembered his dreams about them and said to them,“ You are spies. You have come to see the weakness of the land.”

And Joseph remembered the dreams which he had about them, and he said to them,“ You are spies; you have come to look at the undefended parts of our land.”

Then Joseph remembered the dreams which he had dreamed about them, and said to them,“ You are spies! You have come to see the nakedness of the land!”

And Joseph remembered the dreams which he dreamed of them, and said unto them, Ye are spies; to see the nakedness of the land ye are come.

約瑟做了一夢，告訴他哥哥們，他們就越發恨他。約瑟對他們說：「請聽我所做的夢：我們在田裏捆禾稼，我的捆起來站着，你們的捆來圍着我的捆下拜。」他的哥哥們回答說：「難道你真要作我們的王嗎？難道你真要管轄我們嗎？」他們就因為他的夢和他的話越發恨他。後來他又做了一夢，也告訴他的哥哥們說：「看哪，我又做了一夢，夢見太陽、月亮，與十一個星向我下拜。」

窺探的人看見一個人從城裏出來，就對他說：「求你將進城的路指示我們，我們必恩待你。」

當探子的兩個少年人就進去，將喇合與她的父母、弟兄，和她所有的，並她一切的親眷，都帶出來，安置在以色列的營外。

耶和華殺百姓的緣故是因他們同亞倫做了牛犢。

這就是摩西所打發、窺探那地之人的名字。摩西就稱嫩的兒子何希阿為約書亞。摩西打發他們去窺探迦南地，說：「你們從南地上山地去，看那地如何，其中所住的民是強是弱，是多是少，所住之地是好是歹，所住之處是營盤是堅城。又看那地土是肥美是瘠薄，其中有樹木沒有。你們要放開膽量，把那地的果子帶些來。」（那時正是葡萄初熟的時候。）

把你們的小兄弟帶到我這裏來，我便知道你們不是奸細，乃是誠實人。這樣，我就把你們的弟兄交給你們，你們也可以在這地做買賣。』」

「你打發人去窺探我所賜給以色列人的迦南地，他們每支派中要打發一個人，都要作首領的。」

妓女喇合因着信，曾和和平平地接待探子，就不與那些不順從的人一同滅亡。

於是窺探耶穌，打發奸細裝作好人，要在他的話上得把柄，好將他交在巡撫的政權之下。

當下，嫩的兒子約書亞從什亭暗暗打發兩個人作探子，吩咐說：「你們去窺探那地和耶利哥。」於是二人去了，來到一個妓女名叫喇合的家裏，就在那裏躺臥。

「那地的主對我們說嚴厲的話，把我們當作窺探那地的奸細。我們對他說：『我們是誠實人，並不是奸細。

就打發人去探聽，便知道掃羅果然來到。

須要打發你們中間一個人去，把你們的兄弟帶來。至於你們，都要囚在這裏，好證驗你們的話真不真，若不真，我指着法老的性命起誓，你們一定是奸細。」
