Then he remembered his dreams about them and said to them,“ You are spies! You have come to see where our land is unprotected.”

Then Joseph remembered his dreams about them. So he said to them,“ You are spies! You have come to see the places where our land isn’t guarded very well.”

And Joseph remembered the dreams that he had dreamed of them. And he said to them,“ You are spies; you have come to see the nakedness of the land.”

And he remembered the dreams he’d had about them many years before. He said to them,“ You are spies! You have come to see how vulnerable our land has become.”

Joseph remembered his dreams about them and said to them,“ You are spies. You have come to see the weakness of the land.”

And Joseph remembered the dreams which he had about them, and he said to them,“ You are spies; you have come to look at the undefended parts of our land.”

Then Joseph remembered the dreams which he had dreamed about them, and said to them,“ You are spies! You have come to see the nakedness of the land!”

And Joseph remembered the dreams which he dreamed of them, and said unto them, Ye are spies; to see the nakedness of the land ye are come.

约瑟做了一个梦，并告诉了哥哥们，他们更恨他了。约瑟对哥哥们说：“你们听听我做的梦——我们在田里捆庄稼，我捆的庄稼站起来，你们捆的庄稼都围着我捆的庄稼下拜。”他的哥哥们回答说：“难道你真想做我们的王统治我们吗？”他们因约瑟的梦和他说的话而更恨他。后来，约瑟又做了一个梦，他又去对哥哥们说：“你们听听我做的另一个梦，我梦见太阳、月亮和十一颗星星都向我下拜。”

探子看见一个人从城里出来，就对他说：“请你告诉我们进城的路，我们必善待你。”

于是，那两个年轻探子便进去，把喇合和她的父母、兄弟及所有的亲人都带出来，安置在以色列人的营外。

耶和华击杀百姓，是因为他们曾与亚伦一起造牛犊。

以上是摩西派去打探迦南的人，他称嫩的儿子何西阿为约书亚。摩西派他们去打探迦南，并嘱咐说：“你们先去南地，然后再进山区，打探那地方，看看那里的居民是强是弱，是多是少；那地方是好是坏，人们住的是坚固的城池还是不设防的营地；土地是肥沃还是贫瘠，有没有树木。尽量带些当地的果子回来。”当时是葡萄初熟的季节。

但你们要把最小的弟弟带来见我，这样我便知道你们不是奸细，是诚实人。我就会释放你们的弟兄，你们也可以在这里自由地买卖。’”

“你要派十二位首领，每个支派一位，去打探我要赐给以色列人的迦南。”

妓女喇合凭信心善待以色列的探子，没有与那些不顺服的人一同灭亡。

于是，他们密切地监视耶稣，又派遣密探假装好人，想从祂的话里找把柄抓祂去见总督。

嫩的儿子约书亚暗中从什亭派出两个探子去侦察对岸，特别是耶利哥的情况。他们来到一个名叫喇合的妓女家中，就住在那里。

说：“埃及的宰相对我们说话很凶，还把我们当成奸细。我们对他说，‘我们是诚实人，不是奸细。

就派人去打探消息，得知扫罗的追兵果然已到。

你们派一个人回去把你们的弟弟带来，其他人都要被囚禁在这里，我要看看你们说的是真还是假。要是你们说的是假话，我以法老的性命起誓，你们一定是奸细。”
