這樣看來，不是你們，是上帝把我送到這裡的。祂使我成為法老的宰相，管理他的家和整個埃及。

我要派你管理我家，我的人民都要遵從你的命令，只有我權力比你大。」法老又說：「我現在派你治理埃及全國。」

後來，埃及全國也鬧饑荒，百姓就向法老求糧，法老對他們說：「你們去找約瑟吧，要照他的吩咐做。」饑荒蔓延到整個埃及時，約瑟便開倉賣糧給埃及人。那時，埃及的饑荒非常嚴重。

抬頭看見三個人站在對面，就跑去迎接他們，俯伏在地，

看啊！我要使撒旦的同夥，就是那些假冒猶太人的說謊者，在你面前俯伏下拜，讓他們知道你是我所疼愛的。

對父親說：「約瑟還活著，並且做了埃及的宰相。」雅各驚呆了，不敢相信他們的話。

那兩個天使在黃昏的時候來到所多瑪，羅得正坐在城門口，看見他們，便起來迎接，俯伏在地上說：
