主之僕我父曰、爾知我妻惟生二子、一出不歸、我曰必破裂矣、至今未見、若亦攜此而去、設其遘害、則爾使我皓首慘然下陰府矣、父子二人、相依為命、我歸見主之僕我父、而孺子不與我偕、父不見孺子必死、是僕使主之僕我父、皓首慘然下陰府也、且僕曾保孺子於父曰、如不攜歸以見、我畢生負咎於父前、今求准僕代孺子居此、為吾主之奴、容其偕兄歸、若孺子不與我同返、父之悲慘、何忍見乎、

我告吾主曰、老父尚在、暮年生季子、其同母之兄亡矣、厥母惟遺此子、父愛之、主語僕曰、攜之來、使我目睹之、僕告主曰、孺子不能離父、離之則父死、

耶和華上帝曰、斯人能別善惡、彷彿我儕、恐其舉手、亦取生命樹果、食之而永生、
