Jacob, their father, said to them,“ You have bereaved me of my children! Joseph is no more, Simeon is no more, and you want to take Benjamin away. All these things are against me.”

他们的父亲雅各对他们说：“你们总是使我丧失儿子：约瑟没有了，西缅也没有了，你们还要把便雅悯带走；每一件事都是针对我。”

他们的父亲雅各对他们说：“你们使我丧失了儿子：约瑟不在了，西缅也不在了；你们又要把本雅明带走，这一切都是冲着我来的！”

Their father Jacob said to them,“ You have deprived me of my children. Joseph is no more and Simeon is no more, and now you want to take Benjamin. Everything is against me!”

Their father Jacob said to them,“ You have taken my children away from me. Joseph is gone. Simeon is gone. Now you want to take Benjamin. Everything is going against me!”

And Jacob their father said to them,“ You have bereaved me of my children: Joseph is no more, and Simeon is no more, and now you would take Benjamin. All this has come against me.”

Jacob exclaimed,“ You are robbing me of my children! Joseph is gone! Simeon is gone! And now you want to take Benjamin, too. Everything is going against me!”

Their father Jacob said to them,“ It’s me that you make childless. Joseph is gone, and Simeon is gone. Now you want to take Benjamin. Everything happens to me!”

And their father Jacob said to them,“ You have deprived me of my sons: Joseph is gone, and Simeon is gone, and now you would take Benjamin; all these things are against me.”

And Jacob their father said to them,“ You have bereaved me: Joseph is no more, Simeon is no more, and you want to take Benjamin. All these things are against me.”

And Jacob their father said unto them, Me have ye bereaved of my children: Joseph is not, and Simeon is not, and ye will take Benjamin away: all these things are against me.

Their father Jacob said to them,“ You have deprived me of my sons. Joseph is gone and Simeon is gone. Now you want to take Benjamin. Everything happens to me!”

And Jacob their father said unto them, Me have ye bereaved[ of my children]: Joseph[ is] not, and Simeon[ is] not, and ye will take Benjamin[ away]: all these things are against me.

Their father Jacob said to them,“ You are making me childless! Joseph is gone. Simeon is gone. And now you want to take Benjamin! Everything is against me.”

May God Almighty give you mercy before the man, that he may release to you your other brother and Benjamin. If I am bereaved of my children, I am bereaved.”

I said,“ In the middle of my life I go into the gates of Sheol. I am deprived of the residue of my years.”

Immediately Jesus stretched out his hand, took hold of him, and said to him,“ You of little faith, why did you doubt?”

Therefore by this the iniquity of Jacob will be forgiven, and this is all the fruit of taking away his sin: that he makes all the stones of the altar as chalk stones that are beaten in pieces, so that the Asherah poles and the incense altars shall rise no more.

Joseph provided his father, his brothers, and all of his father’s household with bread, according to the sizes of their families.

We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, for those who are called according to his purpose.

Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness.

Israel said,“ It is enough. Joseph my son is still alive. I will go and see him before I die.”

Better is the end of a thing than its beginning. The patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit.

No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.

Oh remember that my life is a breath. My eye will no more see good.

Come now therefore, and let’s kill him, and cast him into one of the pits, and we will say,‘ An evil animal has devoured him.’ We will see what will become of his dreams.”Reuben heard it, and delivered him out of their hand, and said,“ Let’s not take his life.”Reuben said to them,“ Shed no blood. Throw him into this pit that is in the wilderness, but lay no hand on him”— that he might deliver him out of their hand, to restore him to his father.When Joseph came to his brothers, they stripped Joseph of his tunic, the tunic of many colors that was on him;and they took him, and threw him into the pit. The pit was empty. There was no water in it.They sat down to eat bread, and they lifted up their eyes and looked, and saw a caravan of Ishmaelites was coming from Gilead, with their camels bearing spices and balm and myrrh, going to carry it down to Egypt.Judah said to his brothers,“ What profit is it if we kill our brother and conceal his blood?Come, and let’s sell him to the Ishmaelites, and not let our hand be on him; for he is our brother, our flesh.” His brothers listened to him.Midianites who were merchants passed by, and they drew and lifted up Joseph out of the pit, and sold Joseph to the Ishmaelites for twenty pieces of silver. The merchants brought Joseph into Egypt.Reuben returned to the pit, and saw that Joseph wasn’t in the pit; and he tore his clothes.He returned to his brothers, and said,“ The child is no more; and I, where will I go?”They took Joseph’s tunic, and killed a male goat, and dipped the tunic in the blood.They took the tunic of many colors, and they brought it to their father, and said,“ We have found this. Examine it, now, and see if it is your son’s tunic or not.”He recognized it, and said,“ It is my son’s tunic. An evil animal has devoured him. Joseph is without doubt torn in pieces.”Jacob tore his clothes, and put sackcloth on his waist, and mourned for his son many days.All his sons and all his daughters rose up to comfort him, but he refused to be comforted. He said,“ For I will go down to Sheol to my son, mourning.” His father wept for him.

For I, Yahweh your God, will hold your right hand, saying to you,‘ Don’t be afraid. I will help you.’Don’t be afraid, you worm Jacob, and you men of Israel. I will help you,” says Yahweh.“ Your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel.

For our light affliction, which is for the moment, works for us more and more exceedingly an eternal weight of glory,

What then shall we say about these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but Yahweh delivers him out of them all.

Be patient therefore, brothers, until the coming of the Lord. Behold, the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient over it, until it receives the early and late rain.You also be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand.Don’t grumble, brothers, against one another, so that you won’t be judged. Behold, the judge stands at the door.Take, brothers, for an example of suffering and of perseverance, the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord.Behold, we call them blessed who endured. You have heard of the perseverance of Job, and have seen the Lord in the outcome, and how the Lord is full of compassion and mercy.

David said in his heart,“ I will now perish one day by the hand of Saul. There is nothing better for me than that I should escape into the land of the Philistines; and Saul will despair of me, to seek me any more in all the borders of Israel. So shall I escape out of his hand.”
