Their father Jacob said to them,“ You are making me childless! Joseph is gone. Simeon is gone. And now you want to take Benjamin! Everything is against me.”

Their father Jacob said to them,“ You have deprived me of my children. Joseph is no more and Simeon is no more, and now you want to take Benjamin. Everything is against me!”

Their father Jacob said to them,“ You have taken my children away from me. Joseph is gone. Simeon is gone. Now you want to take Benjamin. Everything is going against me!”

And Jacob their father said to them,“ You have bereaved me of my children: Joseph is no more, and Simeon is no more, and now you would take Benjamin. All this has come against me.”

Jacob exclaimed,“ You are robbing me of my children! Joseph is gone! Simeon is gone! And now you want to take Benjamin, too. Everything is going against me!”

Their father Jacob said to them,“ It’s me that you make childless. Joseph is gone, and Simeon is gone. Now you want to take Benjamin. Everything happens to me!”

And their father Jacob said to them,“ You have deprived me of my sons: Joseph is gone, and Simeon is gone, and now you would take Benjamin; all these things are against me.”

And Jacob their father said to them,“ You have bereaved me: Joseph is no more, Simeon is no more, and you want to take Benjamin. All these things are against me.”

And Jacob their father said unto them, Me have ye bereaved of my children: Joseph is not, and Simeon is not, and ye will take Benjamin away: all these things are against me.

Their father Jacob said to them,“ You have deprived me of my sons. Joseph is gone and Simeon is gone. Now you want to take Benjamin. Everything happens to me!”

And Jacob their father said unto them, Me have ye bereaved[ of my children]: Joseph[ is] not, and Simeon[ is] not, and ye will take Benjamin[ away]: all these things are against me.

Jacob, their father, said to them,“ You have bereaved me of my children! Joseph is no more, Simeon is no more, and you want to take Benjamin away. All these things are against me.”

May the sovereign God grant you mercy before the man so that he may release your other brother and Benjamin! As for me, if I lose my children I lose them.”

“ I thought,‘ In the middle of my life I must walk through the gates of Sheol, I am deprived of the rest of my years.’

Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him, saying to him,“ You of little faith, why did you doubt?”

So in this way Jacob’s sin will be forgiven, and this is how they will show they are finished sinning: They will make all the stones of the altars like crushed limestone, and the Asherah poles and the incense altars will no longer stand.

Joseph also provided food for his father, his brothers, and all his father’s household, according to the number of their little children.

And we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, who are called according to his purpose,

Don’t be afraid, for I am with you! Don’t be frightened, for I am your God! I strengthen you– yes, I help you– yes, I uphold you with my saving right hand!

Then Israel said,“ Enough! My son Joseph is still alive! I will go and see him before I die.”

The end of a matter is better than its beginning; likewise, patience is better than pride.

No trial has overtaken you that is not faced by others. And God is faithful: He will not let you be tried beyond what you are able to bear, but with the trial will also provide a way out so that you may be able to endure it.

Remember that my life is but a breath, that my eyes will never again see happiness.

Come now, let’s kill him, throw him into one of the cisterns, and then say that a wild animal ate him. Then we’ll see how his dreams turn out!”When Reuben heard this, he rescued Joseph from their hands, saying,“ Let’s not take his life!”Reuben continued,“ Don’t shed blood! Throw him into this cistern that is here in the wilderness, but don’t lay a hand on him.”( Reuben said this so he could rescue Joseph from them and take him back to his father.)When Joseph reached his brothers, they stripped him of his tunic, the special tunic that he wore.Then they took him and threw him into the cistern.( Now the cistern was empty; there was no water in it.)When they sat down to eat their food, they looked up and saw a caravan of Ishmaelites coming from Gilead. Their camels were carrying spices, balm, and myrrh down to Egypt.Then Judah said to his brothers,“ What profit is there if we kill our brother and cover up his blood?Come, let’s sell him to the Ishmaelites, but let’s not lay a hand on him, for after all, he is our brother, our own flesh.” His brothers agreed.So when the Midianite merchants passed by, Joseph’s brothers pulled him out of the cistern and sold him to the Ishmaelites for twenty pieces of silver. The Ishmaelites then took Joseph to Egypt.Later Reuben returned to the cistern to find that Joseph was not in it! He tore his clothes,returned to his brothers, and said,“ The boy isn’t there! And I, where can I go?”So they took Joseph’s tunic, killed a young goat, and dipped the tunic in the blood.Then they brought the special tunic to their father and said,“ We found this. Determine now whether it is your son’s tunic or not.”He recognized it and exclaimed,“ It is my son’s tunic! A wild animal has eaten him! Joseph has surely been torn to pieces!”Then Jacob tore his clothes, put on sackcloth, and mourned for his son many days.All his sons and daughters stood by him to console him, but he refused to be consoled.“ No,” he said,“ I will go to the grave mourning my son.” So Joseph’s father wept for him.

For I am the LORD your God, the one who takes hold of your right hand, who says to you,‘ Don’t be afraid, I am helping you.’Don’t be afraid, despised insignificant Jacob, men of Israel. I am helping you,” says the LORD, your protector, the Holy One of Israel.

For our momentary, light suffering is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison

What then shall we say about these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

The godly face many dangers, but the LORD saves them from each one of them.

So be patient, brothers and sisters, until the Lord’s return. Think of how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the ground and is patient for it until it receives the early and late rains.You also be patient and strengthen your hearts, for the Lord’s return is near.Do not grumble against one another, brothers and sisters, so that you may not be judged. See, the judge stands before the gates!As an example of suffering and patience, brothers and sisters, take the prophets who spoke in the Lord’s name.Think of how we regard as blessed those who have endured. You have heard of Job’s endurance and you have seen the Lord’s purpose, that the Lord is full of compassion and mercy.

David thought to himself,“ One of these days I’m going to be swept away by the hand of Saul! There is nothing better for me than to escape to the land of the Philistines. Then Saul will despair of searching for me through all the territory of Israel and I will escape from his hand.”
