Their father Jacob said to them,“ You have deprived me of my children. Joseph is no more and Simeon is no more, and now you want to take Benjamin. Everything is against me!”

Their father Jacob said to them,“ You have taken my children away from me. Joseph is gone. Simeon is gone. Now you want to take Benjamin. Everything is going against me!”

And Jacob their father said to them,“ You have bereaved me of my children: Joseph is no more, and Simeon is no more, and now you would take Benjamin. All this has come against me.”

Jacob exclaimed,“ You are robbing me of my children! Joseph is gone! Simeon is gone! And now you want to take Benjamin, too. Everything is going against me!”

Their father Jacob said to them,“ It’s me that you make childless. Joseph is gone, and Simeon is gone. Now you want to take Benjamin. Everything happens to me!”

And Jacob their father said to them,“ You have bereaved me: Joseph is no more, Simeon is no more, and you want to take Benjamin. All these things are against me.”

And Jacob their father said unto them, Me have ye bereaved of my children: Joseph is not, and Simeon is not, and ye will take Benjamin away: all these things are against me.

Their father Jacob said to them,“ You have deprived me of my sons. Joseph is gone and Simeon is gone. Now you want to take Benjamin. Everything happens to me!”

And Jacob their father said unto them, Me have ye bereaved[ of my children]: Joseph[ is] not, and Simeon[ is] not, and ye will take Benjamin[ away]: all these things are against me.

Their father Jacob said to them,“ You are making me childless! Joseph is gone. Simeon is gone. And now you want to take Benjamin! Everything is against me.”

Jacob, their father, said to them,“ You have bereaved me of my children! Joseph is no more, Simeon is no more, and you want to take Benjamin away. All these things are against me.”

and may God Almighty grant you compassion in the sight of the man, so that he will release to you your other brother and Benjamin. And as for me, if I am bereaved of my sons, I am bereaved!”

I said,“ In the middle of my life I am to enter the gates of Sheol; I have been deprived of the rest of my years.”

Immediately Jesus reached out with His hand and took hold of him, and* said to him,“ You of little faith, why did you doubt?”

Therefore through this Jacob’s wrongdoing will be forgiven; And this will be the full price of the pardoning of his sin: When he makes all the altar stones like pulverized chalk stones; When Asherim and incense altars will not stand.

Joseph also provided his father and his brothers and all his father’s household with food, according to the number of their little ones.

And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.

Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, I will also help you, I will also uphold you with My righteous right hand.’

Then Israel said,“ It is enough; my son Joseph is still alive. I will go and see him before I die.”

The end of a matter is better than its beginning; Patience of spirit is better than arrogance of spirit.

No temptation has overtaken you except something common to mankind; and God is faithful, so He will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it.

“ Remember that my life is a mere breath; My eye will not see goodness again.

Now then, come and let’s kill him, and throw him into one of the pits; and we will say,‘ A vicious animal devoured him.’ Then we will see what will become of his dreams!”But Reuben heard this and rescued him out of their hands by saying,“ Let’s not take his life.”Then Reuben said to them,“ Shed no blood. Throw him into this pit that is in the wilderness, but do not lay a hand on him”— so that later he might rescue him out of their hands, to return him to his father.So it came about, when Joseph reached his brothers, that they stripped Joseph of his tunic, the multicolored tunic that was on him;and they took him and threw him into the pit. Now the pit was empty, without any water in it.Then they sat down to eat a meal. But as they raised their eyes and looked, behold, a caravan of Ishmaelites was coming from Gilead, with their camels carrying labdanum resin, balsam, and myrrh, on their way to bring them down to Egypt.And Judah said to his brothers,“ What profit is it for us to kill our brother and cover up his blood?Come, and let’s sell him to the Ishmaelites and not lay our hands on him, for he is our brother, our own flesh.” And his brothers listened to him.Then some Midianite traders passed by, so they pulled him out and lifted Joseph out of the pit, and sold him to the Ishmaelites for twenty shekels of silver. So they brought Joseph into Egypt.Now Reuben returned to the pit, and behold, Joseph was not in the pit; so he tore his garments.He returned to his brothers and said,“ The boy is not there; as for me, where am I to go?”So they took Joseph’s tunic, and slaughtered a male goat, and dipped the tunic in the blood;and they sent the multicolored tunic and brought it to their father and said,“ We found this; please examine it to see whether it is your son’s tunic or not.”Then he examined it and said,“ It is my son’s tunic. A vicious animal has devoured him; Joseph has surely been torn to pieces!”So Jacob tore his clothes, and put on a sackcloth undergarment over his waist, and mourned for his son many days.Then all his sons and all his daughters got up to comfort him, but he refused to be comforted. And he said,“ Surely I will go down to Sheol in mourning for my son.” So his father wept for him.

For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand, Who says to you,‘ Do not fear, I will help you.’Do not fear, you worm Jacob, you people of Israel; I will help you,” declares the Lord,“ and your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel.

For our momentary, light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison,

What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us?

The afflictions of the righteous are many, But the Lord rescues him from them all.

Therefore be patient, brothers and sisters, until the coming of the Lord. The farmer waits for the precious produce of the soil, being patient about it, until it gets the early and late rains.You too be patient; strengthen your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is near.Do not complain, brothers and sisters, against one another, so that you may not be judged; behold, the Judge is standing right at the door.As an example, brothers and sisters, of suffering and patience, take the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord.We count those blessed who endured. You have heard of the endurance of Job and have seen the outcome of the Lord’s dealings, that the Lord is full of compassion and is merciful.

Then David said to himself,“ Now I will perish one day by the hand of Saul. There is nothing better for me than to safely escape into the land of the Philistines. Then Saul will despair of searching for me anymore in all the territory of Israel, and I will escape from his hand.”
