Their father Jacob said to them,“ You have deprived me of my sons. Joseph is gone and Simeon is gone. Now you want to take Benjamin. Everything happens to me!”

Their father Jacob said to them,“ You have deprived me of my children. Joseph is no more and Simeon is no more, and now you want to take Benjamin. Everything is against me!”

Their father Jacob said to them,“ You have taken my children away from me. Joseph is gone. Simeon is gone. Now you want to take Benjamin. Everything is going against me!”

And Jacob their father said to them,“ You have bereaved me of my children: Joseph is no more, and Simeon is no more, and now you would take Benjamin. All this has come against me.”

Jacob exclaimed,“ You are robbing me of my children! Joseph is gone! Simeon is gone! And now you want to take Benjamin, too. Everything is going against me!”

Their father Jacob said to them,“ It’s me that you make childless. Joseph is gone, and Simeon is gone. Now you want to take Benjamin. Everything happens to me!”

And their father Jacob said to them,“ You have deprived me of my sons: Joseph is gone, and Simeon is gone, and now you would take Benjamin; all these things are against me.”

And Jacob their father said to them,“ You have bereaved me: Joseph is no more, Simeon is no more, and you want to take Benjamin. All these things are against me.”

And Jacob their father said unto them, Me have ye bereaved of my children: Joseph is not, and Simeon is not, and ye will take Benjamin away: all these things are against me.

And Jacob their father said unto them, Me have ye bereaved[ of my children]: Joseph[ is] not, and Simeon[ is] not, and ye will take Benjamin[ away]: all these things are against me.

Their father Jacob said to them,“ You are making me childless! Joseph is gone. Simeon is gone. And now you want to take Benjamin! Everything is against me.”

Jacob, their father, said to them,“ You have bereaved me of my children! Joseph is no more, Simeon is no more, and you want to take Benjamin away. All these things are against me.”

May God Almighty cause the man to be merciful to you so that he will release your other brother and Benjamin to you. As for me, if I am deprived of my sons, then I am deprived.”

I said: In the prime of my life I must go to the gates of Sheol; I am deprived of the rest of my years.

Immediately Jesus reached out His hand, caught hold of him, and said to him,“ You of little faith, why did you doubt?”

Therefore Jacob’s iniquity will be purged in this way, and the result of the removal of his sin will be this: when he makes all the altar stones like crushed bits of chalk, no Asherah poles or incense altars will remain standing.

And Joseph provided his father, his brothers, and all his father’s household with food for their dependents.

We know that all things work together for the good of those who love God: those who are called according to His purpose.

Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you; I will help you; I will hold on to you with My righteous right hand.

Then Israel said,“ Enough! My son Joseph is still alive. I will go to see him before I die.”

The end of a matter is better than its beginning; a patient spirit is better than a proud spirit.

No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to humanity. God is faithful, and He will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation He will also provide a way of escape so that you are able to bear it.

Remember that my life is but a breath. My eye will never again see anything good.

Come on, let’s kill him and throw him into one of the pits. We can say that a vicious animal ate him. Then we’ll see what becomes of his dreams!”When Reuben heard this, he tried to save him from them. He said,“ Let’s not take his life.”Reuben also said to them,“ Don’t shed blood. Throw him into this pit in the wilderness, but don’t lay a hand on him”— intending to rescue him from their hands and return him to his father.When Joseph came to his brothers, they stripped off his robe, the robe of many colors that he had on.Then they took him and threw him into the pit. The pit was empty; there was no water in it.Then they sat down to eat a meal. They looked up, and there was a caravan of Ishmaelites coming from Gilead. Their camels were carrying aromatic gum, balsam, and resin, going down to Egypt.Then Judah said to his brothers,“ What do we gain if we kill our brother and cover up his blood?Come, let’s sell him to the Ishmaelites and not lay a hand on him, for he is our brother, our own flesh,” and they agreed.When Midianite traders passed by, his brothers pulled Joseph out of the pit and sold him for 20 pieces of silver to the Ishmaelites, who took Joseph to Egypt.When Reuben returned to the pit and saw that Joseph was not there, he tore his clothes.He went back to his brothers and said,“ The boy is gone! What am I going to do?”So they took Joseph’s robe, slaughtered a young goat, and dipped the robe in its blood.They sent the robe of many colors to their father and said,“ We found this. Examine it. Is it your son’s robe or not?”His father recognized it.“ It is my son’s robe,” he said.“ A vicious animal has devoured him. Joseph has been torn to pieces!”Then Jacob tore his clothes, put sackcloth around his waist, and mourned for his son many days.All his sons and daughters tried to comfort him, but he refused to be comforted.“ No,” he said.“ I will go down to Sheol to my son, mourning.” And his father wept for him.

For I, Yahweh your God, hold your right hand and say to you: Do not fear, I will help you.Do not fear, you worm Jacob, you men of Israel: I will help you— this is the Lord’s declaration. Your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel.

For our momentary light affliction is producing for us an absolutely incomparable eternal weight of glory.

What then are we to say about these things? If God is for us, who is against us?

Many adversities come to the one who is righteous, but the Lord delivers him from them all.

Therefore, brothers, be patient until the Lord’s coming. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth and is patient with it until it receives the early and the late rains.You also must be patient. Strengthen your hearts, because the Lord’s coming is near.Brothers, do not complain about one another, so that you will not be judged. Look, the judge stands at the door!Brothers, take the prophets who spoke in the Lord’s name as an example of suffering and patience.See, we count as blessed those who have endured. You have heard of Job’s endurance and have seen the outcome from the Lord. The Lord is very compassionate and merciful.

David said to himself,“ One of these days I’ll be swept away by Saul. There is nothing better for me than to escape immediately to the land of the Philistines. Then Saul will stop searching for me everywhere in Israel, and I’ll escape from him.”
