約瑟的愛弟之情升騰，他就急忙找個地方去哭。於是他進到自己的內室，在那裡哭了一場。

到了第三天，當他們正疼痛的時候，雅各的兩個兒子，就是狄娜的哥哥西緬和利未，各拿刀劍，在全城毫無戒備的時候進去，把所有的男子都殺了。

他在他們的一切患難中也受患難，並且他面前的使者拯救了他們。他以自己的愛和憐恤救贖了他們，在古時所有的日子裡舉起他們、背負他們。

有些人疑惑不定，你們要憐憫他們；有些人，你們要把他們從火裡搶出來，拯救他們；有些人，你們要懷著懼怕的心憐憫他們，連他們被肉慾玷汙的衣服也要恨惡。

管家說：「你們請放心，不要害怕。是你們的神，你們父親的神賜你們財寶，放在你們的袋子裡。你們的銀子我早已收到了。」然後他把西緬帶出來交給他們。

耶穌快到耶路撒冷的時候，看見那城，就為她哭泣，

願全能的神使你們在那人面前蒙憐憫，好讓他可以把你們那個兄弟和便雅憫都交還給你們。至於我，如果要喪失兒子，就喪失吧！」
