When Jacob learned that there was grain in Egypt, he said to his sons,“ Why do you just keep looking at each other?”

雅各聽說在埃及有糧，就差遣我們的祖宗出去，這是第一次；

過了七年、那婦人從非利士地回來，就出去為自己的房屋和田地向王哀叫。那時王正和神人的僮僕基哈西談話、說：『請將以利沙所行的一切大事向我敘說敘說。』

這樣，既有話說：『你們的磚不可減少，每天的本份要在當天作完』，以色列人的頭目就見他們有禍了。

眾民見了雷轟、閃電、角聲和山上冒着煙；就懼怕，直發顫，遠遠地站着。

永恆主對約書亞說：『起來；你為甚麼這樣將臉伏地呢？

不，相反的，他們看見了我受託付來傳不受割禮的福音，正如彼得受託付去傳受割禮的福音

以法蓮見自己有病，猶大見自己有傷，以法蓮就打發人到亞述去，差遣人去見那大王，他卻不能醫治你們，不能把你們的傷治好。

他說：『𠺶，我聽說在埃及有穀子；你們下那裏去，從那裏給我們買，我們就可以活着，免得死。』

我們為甚麼靜坐不動呢？聚集攏來哦，我們好進入有堡壘的城，在那裏寂滅掉；因為永恆主我們的上帝命定我們寂滅，將毒苦水給我們喝，因為我們犯罪得罪了永恆主。

以利亞害怕，就起來逃命，到了猶大的別是巴，將僮僕留在那裏。

你起來；這是你應當行的事；我們擁護着你；你要剛強去作。』

各地都往埃及去，到約瑟那裏去買，因為饑荒在各地都很厲害。

正如約瑟所說的：七個饑荒的年頭開始來了，各地都有饑荒，惟獨埃及全地有食物。
