我听说埃及有粮食，你们快到埃及去买些粮食回来吧，免得我们饿死。”

他们说：“我们为什么还坐在这里？大家一起进入坚城，死在那里吧！我们的上帝耶和华要毁灭我们，给我们毒药喝，因为我们得罪了祂。

以利亚很害怕，连忙逃命，来到犹大的别示巴。他让仆人留在那里，

起来吧！这事由你处理，我们支持你，放胆去做吧！”

各国的人都到埃及来向约瑟买粮，因为天下到处都是大饥荒。

七个荒年接踵而至，正如约瑟所言。各地都有饥荒，只有埃及全国有粮食。
