王聆其智慧之言、知彼較通國之博士賢人、尤為明哲、且十倍之、

法老召哲人巫覡、即埃及之博士、亦施厥術、以行是事。

故我必行異跡於民間、神妙莫測、智者窒其慧、明者塞其聰、

希律王時、耶穌既生於猶太伯利恆、有博士數人、自東方至耶路撒冷、

或曰、維彼巫覡、及為神所憑者、何不問焉、其聲綿蠻、其音微細。則應之曰、人豈不當問於上帝哉、生人之事、詢於死者、亦奚以為。

為卜神所憑者勿崇、巫覡勿問、恐有玷於爾、為我耶和華爾之上帝所禁。

忽得一夢、致余畏懼、宵闌輾轉、中心鬱伊、

但以理亦名伯底沙撒、一聞我言、不覺驚駭竟晷、中心鬱陶、余曰、伯底沙撒勿為余夢及兆、鬱伊不止、對曰、願此夢之兆、應於敵人、勿為王躬之咎、

博士亦施厥術、欲生蚋、而術不行。人畜既被嘬。博士告法老曰、此乃上帝施其有能之手、維時法老剛愎厥心、仍不聽從、而耶和華前言應矣。○

爾曹至爾上帝耶和華所錫之地、彼民所為可惡之事、爾勿則效。凡焚獻子女、及卜筮術數、占師巫覡、或左道、或崇憑於卜神者、或為巫覡、或用術而招魂者、俱勿留於四境之內、

時、以彼古羅、士多亞智者與之爭、有曰、此嘐啁者奚為、有曰、其傳他邦之鬼神歟、蓋保羅傳福音、必稱耶穌及復生也。

告我者其言如此、我但以理中心鬱陶、憂形於色、藏諸五內。

博士亦施厥術、使蛙至於埃及。○

對曰、王所問之事、哲人賢者、博士太史、不能告王、惟天上上帝、以秘奧示人、今將以末日之事告王、王卧於榻、中宵得夢、我試言之、

我但以理喪失其魂、致染疾病、久之始愈、然後起立、而務王事、我以所見之異象、不勝駭愕、識其兆者、迄無一人。

毋自欺也、倘有人貌為智干斯世、則寧不智以為智、蓋此世之智、上帝以為不智、經云、主令智者自中其詭計、又曰、主知智人之意不實、

尼布甲尼撒二年、王獲夢、中必憂疑、不得寢、召諸博士賢人、巫覡太史、既至王前、王命、占夢、曰、我獲一夢、中心鬱陶、欲知其夢而無由、太史以亞蘭方言、呼王千歲曰、請以夢告僕、僕占其兆、王曰、我已有命、如爾不以夢告我、示我以兆、必剖爾體、使爾室為厠、如以夢告我、示我以兆、必大賚爾、尊榮爾、言之勿遲、曰、請王以夢告僕、僕占其兆、王曰、我知爾明知我命、故為遲延、爾第欲欺余、不以夢告我、作緩圖之想、然我命已出、決無再更、爾當以夢告我、則我知爾能占其兆、太史對曰、斯事天下無有能知者、且未聞君王牧伯、以此詰博士賢人太史者也、王所問、人難以對、其惟上帝能之、而上帝不與人交。

經云、我將敗智者之智、廢賢者之賢、

約瑟朝入、見其有憂色、

我聞是事、中懷畏懼、唇齒震動、骨骸若朽、戰慄不已、敵雖至此、加我以難、我尚納慰、

勃然變色、中心鬱陶、腰骨閃損、兩股戰栗、大聲召諸博士、太史、卜師、巴比倫哲士咸至、王告之曰、有能讀斯文字、解其義者、身衣緋衣、項繫金索、為國之相、職居其三、哲士入、文字不能識、奧義不能明、

國中有人、爾祖之時、為至聖上帝之神所感、具聰明、有智慧、與上帝之智無異、爾祖尼布甲尼撒王位之為博士賢人太史卜師之長、

鎖安之牧伯、法老之謀士、忽為愚懵、焉能告法老曰、我乃先賢之後、前王之裔哉。萬有之主耶和華、已定厥命、降災埃及、若爾有賢人、必能知之、知之必能告爾。鎖安之牧伯為愚、挪弗之君長見惑、支派之宗、使之迷途、

自昔迄今、爾惑左道、信巫覡、試使立於此、能小補乎、能勝敵乎、爾謀夫孔多、有人仰觀天象、占察星辰、每值月朔、以卜未來、以定吉凶、使其咸興、庶可救爾。

博士與埃及人、均染此疾、故博士不能立於摩西前。

憑於卜神、而為巫覡。有狥欲以從者、我必罰之、絕於民中。

狡者敗其謀、使事不遂、譎者巧於計、反害及身、謀愈狡者、敗愈速、

寅畏耶和華、心與之交、耶和華必示以真理兮、

摩西盡得埃及人學術、言行兼優、

曰、我儕得夢、無人能占其兆。約瑟曰、占其兆者、由於上帝所示、請述其詳。
