Joseph called the name of the firstborn Manasseh.“ For,” he said,“ God has made me forget all my hardship and all my father’s house.”

因為我不永遠爭辯，也不長久震怒；因為人的生氣是由我而出，人的氣息是我造的。

約瑟拉着他們兩個，以法蓮在他的右手裏，對着以色列的左手，瑪拿西在他的左手裏，對着以色列的右手，領他們挨近前去到以色列跟前。以色列伸出右手來，按在以法蓮的頭上；以法蓮乃是年幼的：他又剪搭過左手來，按在瑪拿西的頭上，而瑪拿西卻是長子。

女子啊，你要聽，要看，要傾耳以聽；務要忘掉你本族之民和你父的家；

約瑟對他父親說：『不是這樣，阿爸；這個才是長子；請把你的右手按在他頭上。』他父親不肯，說：『我知道，我兒，我知道；他也必成為一個民族；而且也必昌大。雖然如此，他的小弟弟卻要比他還昌大；他的後裔必成為許多國家。』那一天雅各就給他們祝福說：『以色列人必用你的名而彼此祝福請安說：「願上帝使你像以法蓮、瑪拿西一樣。」』——他立了以法蓮在瑪拿西上面。

你已將我的舉哀變為舞蹈，將我的麻衣脫下，又將喜樂給我束腰，
