Joseph called the name of the firstborn Manasseh.“ For,” he said,“ God has made me forget all my hardship and all my father’s house.”

Joseph named his older son Manasseh, for he said,“ God has made me forget all my troubles and everyone in my father’s family.”

Joseph named the firstborn Manasseh and said,“ God has made me forget all my hardship and my whole family.”

Joseph named the firstborn Manasseh;“ For,” he said,“ God has made me forget all my trouble and all of my father’s household.”

因为，他的怒气不过是转眼之间；他的恩典乃是一生之久。一宿虽然有哭泣，早晨便必欢呼。

他为牛群中头生的，有威严；他的角是野牛的角，用以抵触万邦，直到地极。这角是以法莲的万万，玛拿西的千千。

让他喝了，就忘记他的贫穷，不再记念他的苦楚。

这样，在地上为自己求福的，必凭真实的神求福；在地上起誓的，必指真实的神起誓。因为，从前的患难已经忘记，也从我眼前隐藏了。”

我必不永远相争，也不长久发怒，恐怕我所造的人与灵性都必发昏。

我未到埃及见你之先，你在埃及地所生的以法莲和玛拿西这两个儿子是我的，正如流便和西缅是我的一样。

随后又要来七个荒年，甚至在埃及地都忘了先前的丰收，全地必被饥荒所灭。

随后，约瑟又拉着他们两个，以法莲在他的右手里，对着以色列的左手，玛拿西在他的左手里，对着以色列的右手，领他们到以色列的跟前。以色列伸出右手来，按在以法莲的头上，以法莲乃是次子，又剪搭过左手来，按在玛拿西的头上，玛拿西原是长子。

女子啊，你要听，要想，要侧耳而听！不要记念你的民和你的父家，

约瑟对他父亲说：“我父，不是这样。这本是长子，求你把右手按在他的头上。”他父亲不从，说：“我知道，我儿，我知道。他也必成为一族，也必昌大。只是他的兄弟将来比他还大；他兄弟的后裔要成为多族。”当日就给他们祝福说：“以色列人要指着你们祝福说：‘愿神使你如以法莲、玛拿西一样。’”于是立以法莲在玛拿西以上。

你已将我的哀哭变为跳舞，将我的麻衣脱去，给我披上喜乐，
