And they replied,“ We both had dreams last night, but no one can tell us what they mean.”“ Interpreting dreams is God’s business,” Joseph replied.“ Go ahead and tell me your dreams.”

“ We both had dreams,” they answered,“ but there is no one to interpret them.” Then Joseph said to them,“ Do not interpretations belong to God? Tell me your dreams.”

“ We both had dreams,” they answered.“ But no one can tell us what they mean.” Then Joseph said to them,“ Only God knows what dreams mean. Tell me your dreams.”

They said to him,“ We have had dreams, and there is no one to interpret them.” And Joseph said to them,“ Do not interpretations belong to God? Please tell them to me.”

“ We had dreams,” they said to him,“ but there is no one to interpret them.” Then Joseph said to them,“ Don’t interpretations belong to God? Tell me your dreams.”

And they said to him,“ We have had a dream, and there is no one to interpret it.” Then Joseph said to them,“ Do interpretations not belong to God? Tell it to me, please.”

And they said to him,“ We each have had a dream, and there is no interpreter of it.” So Joseph said to them,“ Do not interpretations belong to God? Tell them to me, please.”

And they said unto him, We have dreamed a dream, and there is none that can interpret it. And Joseph said unto them, Do not interpretations belong to God? tell it me, I pray you.

“ We had dreams,” they said to him,“ but there is no one to interpret them.” Then Joseph said to them,“ Don’t interpretations belong to God? Tell me your dreams.”

And they said unto him, We have dreamed a dream, and[ there is] no interpreter of it. And Joseph said unto them,[ Do] not interpretations[ belong] to God? tell me[ them], I pray you.

They told him,“ We both had dreams, but there is no one to interpret them.” Joseph responded,“ Don’t interpretations belong to God? Tell them to me.”

They said to him,“ We have dreamed a dream, and there is no one who can interpret it.” Joseph said to them,“ Don’t interpretations belong to God? Please tell it to me.”

Then Pharaoh said to Joseph,“ I had a dream last night, and no one here can tell me what it means. But I have heard that when you hear about a dream you can interpret it.”“ It is beyond my power to do this,” Joseph replied.“ But God can tell you what it means and set you at ease.”

The king said to Daniel,“ Truly, your God is the greatest of gods, the Lord over kings, a revealer of mysteries, for you have been able to reveal this secret.”

But there is a God in heaven who reveals secrets, and he has shown King Nebuchadnezzar what will happen in the future. Now I will tell you your dream and the visions you saw as you lay on your bed.

He gives one person the power to perform miracles, and another the ability to prophesy. He gives someone else the ability to discern whether a message is from the Spirit of God or from another spirit. Still another person is given the ability to speak in unknown languages, while another is given the ability to interpret what is being said.It is the one and only Spirit who distributes all these gifts. He alone decides which gift each person should have.

Indeed, the Sovereign Lord never does anything until he reveals his plans to his servants the prophets.

The Lord is a friend to those who fear him. He teaches them his covenant.

At last Daniel came in before me, and I told him the dream.( He was named Belteshazzar after my god, and the spirit of the holy gods is in him.)

There is a man in your kingdom who has within him the spirit of the holy gods. During Nebuchadnezzar’s reign, this man was found to have insight, understanding, and wisdom like that of the gods. Your predecessor, the king— your predecessor King Nebuchadnezzar— made him chief over all the magicians, enchanters, astrologers, and fortune tellers of Babylon.This man Daniel, whom the king named Belteshazzar, has exceptional ability and is filled with divine knowledge and understanding. He can interpret dreams, explain riddles, and solve difficult problems. Call for Daniel, and he will tell you what the writing means.”So Daniel was brought in before the king. The king asked him,“ Are you Daniel, one of the exiles brought from Judah by my predecessor, King Nebuchadnezzar?I have heard that you have the spirit of the gods within you and that you are filled with insight, understanding, and wisdom.My wise men and enchanters have tried to read the words on the wall and tell me their meaning, but they cannot do it.

The king’s demand is impossible. No one except the gods can tell you your dream, and they do not live here among people.”

He speaks in dreams, in visions of the night, when deep sleep falls on people as they lie in their beds.He whispers in their ears and terrifies them with warnings.

Someone may say to you,“ Let’s ask the mediums and those who consult the spirits of the dead. With their whisperings and mutterings, they will tell us what to do.” But shouldn’t people ask God for guidance? Should the living seek guidance from the dead?
