“ We had dreams,” they said to him,“ but there is no one to interpret them.” Then Joseph said to them,“ Don’t interpretations belong to God? Tell me your dreams.”

他们回答他：“我们各人作了一个梦，但没有人能够解释。”约瑟对他们说：“解梦不是出于神吗？请把梦告诉我吧。”

他们对他说：“我们各做了一梦，但无人能解。”约瑟就对他们说：“解梦难道不在于神吗？请给我讲述一下吧。”

曰、我儕得夢、無人能占、曰、占夢豈非由於上帝乎、請述於我、○

曰、我儕得夢、無人能占其兆。約瑟曰、占其兆者、由於上帝所示、請述其詳。

曰、我儕得夢、無人能解、約瑟曰、解夢非由天主乎、請述於我、

“ We both had dreams,” they answered,“ but there is no one to interpret them.” Then Joseph said to them,“ Do not interpretations belong to God? Tell me your dreams.”

“ We both had dreams,” they answered.“ But no one can tell us what they mean.” Then Joseph said to them,“ Only God knows what dreams mean. Tell me your dreams.”

They said to him,“ We have had dreams, and there is no one to interpret them.” And Joseph said to them,“ Do not interpretations belong to God? Please tell them to me.”

And they replied,“ We both had dreams last night, but no one can tell us what they mean.”“ Interpreting dreams is God’s business,” Joseph replied.“ Go ahead and tell me your dreams.”

And they said to him,“ We have had a dream, and there is no one to interpret it.” Then Joseph said to them,“ Do interpretations not belong to God? Tell it to me, please.”

And they said to him,“ We each have had a dream, and there is no interpreter of it.” So Joseph said to them,“ Do not interpretations belong to God? Tell them to me, please.”

And they said unto him, We have dreamed a dream, and there is none that can interpret it. And Joseph said unto them, Do not interpretations belong to God? tell it me, I pray you.

“ We had dreams,” they said to him,“ but there is no one to interpret them.” Then Joseph said to them,“ Don’t interpretations belong to God? Tell me your dreams.”

And they said unto him, We have dreamed a dream, and[ there is] no interpreter of it. And Joseph said unto them,[ Do] not interpretations[ belong] to God? tell me[ them], I pray you.

They told him,“ We both had dreams, but there is no one to interpret them.” Joseph responded,“ Don’t interpretations belong to God? Tell them to me.”

They said to him,“ We have dreamed a dream, and there is no one who can interpret it.” Joseph said to them,“ Don’t interpretations belong to God? Please tell it to me.”

Pharaoh said to Joseph,“ I have had a dream, and no one can interpret it. But I have heard it said about you that you can hear a dream and interpret it.”“ I am not able to,” Joseph answered Pharaoh.“ It is God who will give Pharaoh a favorable answer.”

The king said to Daniel,“ Your God is indeed God of gods, Lord of kings, and a revealer of mysteries, since you were able to reveal this mystery.”

But there is a God in heaven who reveals mysteries, and he has let King Nebuchadnezzar know what will happen in the last days. Your dream and the visions that came into your mind as you lay in bed were these:

to another, the performing of miracles, to another, prophecy, to another, distinguishing between spirits, to another, different kinds of tongues, to another, interpretation of tongues.One and the same Spirit is active in all these, distributing to each person as he wills.

Indeed, the Lord GOD does nothing without revealing his counsel to his servants the prophets.

The secret counsel of the LORD is for those who fear him, and he reveals his covenant to them.

Finally Daniel, named Belteshazzar after the name of my god— and a spirit of the holy gods is in him— came before me. I told him the dream:

There is a man in your kingdom who has a spirit of the holy gods in him. In the days of your predecessor he was found to have insight, intelligence, and wisdom like the wisdom of the gods. Your predecessor, King Nebuchadnezzar, appointed him chief of the magicians, mediums, Chaldeans, and diviners. Your own predecessor, the king,did this because Daniel, the one the king named Belteshazzar, was found to have an extraordinary spirit, knowledge and intelligence, and the ability to interpret dreams, explain riddles, and solve problems. Therefore, summon Daniel, and he will give the interpretation.”Then Daniel was brought before the king. The king said to him,“ Are you Daniel, one of the Judean exiles that my predecessor the king brought from Judah?I’ve heard that you have a spirit of the gods in you, and that insight, intelligence, and extraordinary wisdom are found in you.Now the wise men and mediums were brought before me to read this inscription and make its interpretation known to me, but they could not give its interpretation.

What the king is asking is so difficult that no one can make it known to him except the gods, whose dwelling is not with mortals.”

In a dream, a vision in the night, when deep sleep comes over people as they slumber on their beds,he uncovers their ears and terrifies them with warnings,

When they say to you,“ Inquire of the mediums and the spiritists who chirp and mutter,” shouldn’t a people inquire of their God? Should they inquire of the dead on behalf of the living?
