But Pharaoh had a pole stuck through the chief baker’s body. Then he had the pole set up. Everything happened just as Joseph had told them when he explained their dreams.

Then Daniel blessed the God of heaven.Daniel answered,“ Blessed be the name of God forever and ever; for wisdom and might are his.He changes the times and the seasons. He removes kings, and sets up kings. He gives wisdom to the wise, and knowledge to those who have understanding.He reveals the deep and secret things. He knows what is in the darkness, and the light dwells with him.I thank you, and praise you, you God of my fathers, who have given me wisdom and might, and have now made known to me what we desired of you; for you have made known to us the king’s matter.”

The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom you killed, hanging him on a tree.

They said to him,“ We have dreamed a dream, and there is no one who can interpret it.” Joseph said to them,“ Don’t interpretations belong to God? Please tell it to me.”

Joseph answered Pharaoh, saying,“ It isn’t in me. God will give Pharaoh an answer of peace.”
