The third day was Pharaoh’s birthday. He had a feast prepared for all his officials. He brought the chief wine taster and the chief baker out of prison. He did it in front of his officials.

Now the third day was Pharaoh’s birthday, and he gave a feast for all his officials. He lifted up the heads of the chief cupbearer and the chief baker in the presence of his officials:

Pharaoh’s birthday came three days later, and he prepared a banquet for all his officials and staff. He summoned his chief cup bearer and chief baker to join the other officials.

On Herod’s birthday the daughter of Herodias danced for Herod and his guests. She pleased Herod very much.

In three days Pharaoh will cut your head off. Then he will stick a pole through your body and set the pole up. The birds will eat your flesh.”

Finally the right time came. Herod gave a banquet on his birthday. He invited his high officials and military leaders. He also invited the most important men in Galilee.

Awel- Marduk set Jehoiachin, the king of Judah, free from prison. It was in the 37th year after Jehoiachin had been taken away to Babylon. It was also the year Awel- Marduk became king of Babylon. It was on the 27th day of the 12th month.

Jesus told his disciples another story. He said,“ There was a rich man who had a manager. Some said that the manager was wasting what the rich man owned.So the rich man told him to come in. He asked him,‘ What is this I hear about you? Tell me exactly how you have handled what I own. You can’t be my manager any longer.’

“ The kingdom of heaven is like a king who wanted to collect all the money his servants owed him.As the king began to do it, a man who owed him 10,000 bags of gold was brought to him.The man was not able to pay. So his master gave an order. The man, his wife, his children, and all he owned had to be sold to pay back what he owed.

In the third year of his rule King Xerxes gave a feast. It was for all his nobles and officials. The military leaders of Persia and Media were there. So were the princes and the nobles of the territories he ruled over.

Isaac grew. The time came for his mother to stop breast- feeding him. On that day Abraham prepared a big celebration.

“ After a long time the master of those slaves returned. He wanted to collect all the money they had earned.

After a while, Job opened his mouth to speak. He cursed the day he had been born.
