三天之內，法老必使你抬起頭來，恢復你原來的職位；你仍要把杯遞在法老的手裡，好像先前作他的酒政時一樣。

今天耶和華要把你交在我手裡，我必擊殺你，砍下你的頭。今天我還要把非利士人軍隊的屍體給空中的飛鳥和地上的野獸吃。這樣，全地的人就都知道以色列中有一位神。

那非利士人又對大衛說：“你到我這裡來吧！我要把你的肉給空中的飛鳥和田野的走獸吃。”

現在請你把他子孫中的七個男丁交給我們，我們可以在基遍耶和華的山上，在耶和華面前把他們處決。”王說：“我必交給你們。”

“如果人犯了該死的罪，被處死以後，你就把他掛在木頭上；他的屍體不可留在樹上過夜，必須在當日把他埋葬，因為被掛在木頭上的，是受神咒詛的；這樣，你就不至於玷污耶和華你的神賜給你作產業的地了。”

結果，事情都照著他給我們的解釋實現了：我恢復了原職，膳長卻被掛起來。”
