法老却把膳长挂起来，正如约瑟给他们的解释一样。

爱雅的女儿利斯巴拿了一块麻布，为自己铺在磐石上。从开始收割的时候，直到雨水从天上倾倒在他们的尸身上的时候，白天她不让空中的飞鸟落在尸身上，夜间不让田间的走兽来糟践他们。

你必倒在以色列的众山之上，你所有的军队和跟你在一起的万族，都必这样；我要把你给各种食肉的飞鸟和田野的走兽作食物。

三天之内，法老必使你抬起头来，恢复你原来的职位；你仍要把杯递在法老的手里，好像先前作他的酒政时一样。

今天耶和华要把你交在我手里，我必击杀你，砍下你的头。今天我还要把非利士人军队的尸体给空中的飞鸟和地上的野兽吃。这样，全地的人就都知道以色列中有一位神。

那非利士人又对大卫说：“你到我这里来吧！我要把你的肉给空中的飞鸟和田野的走兽吃。”

现在请你把他子孙中的七个男丁交给我们，我们可以在基遍耶和华的山上，在耶和华面前把他们处决。”王说：“我必交给你们。”

“如果人犯了该死的罪，被处死以后，你就把他挂在木头上；他的尸体不可留在树上过夜，必须在当日把他埋葬，因为被挂在木头上的，是受神咒诅的；这样，你就不至于玷污耶和华你的神赐给你作产业的地了。”

结果，事情都照着他给我们的解释实现了：我恢复了原职，膳长却被挂起来。”
