耶和华对该隐说：“你为什么发怒呢？你为什么变了脸色呢？

耶和华问该隐：“你为什么恼火？为什么面带怒容？

耶和华对该隐说：“你为什么忿怒呢？你为什么垂头丧气呢？

耶和华对该隐说：“你为什么恼火呢？你的脸为什么沉下来呢——

耶和華對該隱說：「你為甚麼發怒呢？你為甚麼變了臉色呢？

耶和華對該隱說：「你為甚麼生氣呢？你為甚麼沉下臉來呢？

耶和華對該隱說：「你為甚麼生氣呢？你為甚麼沉下臉來呢？

耶和華問該隱：「你為什麼惱火？為什麼面帶怒容？

耶和華對該隱說：“你為甚麼忿怒呢？你為甚麼垂頭喪氣呢？

永恆主對該隱說：『你為甚麼惱怒？你臉色為甚麼變了呢？

耶和華對該隱說：「你為什麼惱火呢？你的臉為什麼沉下來呢——

耶和華曰、爾怒奚為、變色曷故、

耶和華曰、爾怒伊何、變色曷故。

主謂該隱曰、爾怒變色何故、

Then the Lord said to Cain,“ Why are you angry? Why is your face downcast?

Then the Lord said to Cain,“ Why are you angry? Why are you looking so sad?

The Lord said to Cain,“ Why are you angry, and why has your face fallen?

“ Why are you so angry?” the Lord asked Cain.“ Why do you look so dejected?

Then the LORD said to Cain,“ Why are you furious? And why do you look despondent?

Then the Lord said to Cain,“ Why are you angry? And why is your face gloomy?

So the Lord said to Cain,“ Why are you angry? And why has your countenance fallen?

And Jehovah said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen?

Then the Lord said to Cain,“ Why are you furious? And why do you look despondent?

And the LORD said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen?

Then the LORD said to Cain,“ Why are you angry, and why is your expression downcast?

Yahweh said to Cain,“ Why are you angry? Why has the expression of your face fallen?

“ Come now, let us settle the matter,” says the Lord.“ Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool. (niv)

Resentment kills a fool, and envy slays the simple. (niv)

“‘ My son,’ the father said,‘ you are always with me, and everything I have is yours.But we had to celebrate and be glad, because this brother of yours was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’” (niv)

“ My people, what have I done to you? How have I burdened you? Answer me.I brought you up out of Egypt and redeemed you from the land of slavery. Now Jesus learned that the Pharisees had heard that he was gaining and baptizing more disciples than John—although in fact it was not Jesus who baptized, but his disciples.So he left Judea and went back once more to Galilee.Now he had to go through Samaria. (niv)

Then David was angry because the Lord’s wrath had broken out against Uzzah, and to this day that place is called Perez Uzzah.David was afraid of God that day and asked,“ How can I ever bring the ark of God to me?”He did not take the ark to be with him in the City of David. “ You of this generation, consider the word of the Lord:“ Have I been a desert to Israel or a land of great darkness? Why do my people say,‘ We are free to roam; we will come to you no more’? (niv)

( His disciples had gone into the town to buy food.)The Samaritan woman said to him,“ You are a Jew and I am a Samaritan woman. How can you ask me for a drink?”( For Jews do not associate with Samaritans.)Jesus answered her,“ If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water.”“ Sir,” the woman said,“ you have nothing to draw with and the well is deep. Where can you get this living water? (niv)

Don’t I have the right to do what I want with my own money? Or are you envious because I am generous?’ (niv)

This is what the Lord says:“ What fault did your ancestors find in me, that they strayed so far from me? They followed worthless idols and became worthless themselves. (niv)
