And Abel also brought an offering— fat portions from some of the firstborn of his flock. The Lord looked with favor on Abel and his offering,

that thou shalt set apart unto Jehovah all that openeth the womb, and every firstling which thou hast that cometh of a beast; the males shall be Jehovah’s.

Honor Jehovah with thy substance, And with the first- fruits of all thine increase:

And according to the law, I may almost say, all things are cleansed with blood, and apart from shedding of blood there is no remission.

But the firstling of a cow, or the firstling of a sheep, or the firstling of a goat, thou shalt not redeem; they are holy: thou shalt sprinkle their blood upon the altar, and shalt burn their fat for an offering made by fire, for a sweet savor unto Jehovah.

Remember all thy offerings, And accept thy burnt- sacrifice;[ Selah

Then the fire of Jehovah fell, and consumed the burnt- offering, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench.

And all that dwell on the earth shall worship him, every one whose name hath not been written from the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb that hath been slain.

And David built there an altar unto Jehovah, and offered burnt- offerings and peace- offerings, and called upon Jehovah; and he answered him from heaven by fire upon the altar of burnt- offering.

Now when Solomon had made an end of praying, the fire came down from heaven, and consumed the burnt- offering and the sacrifices; and the glory of Jehovah filled the house.

And it came to pass, that, when the sun went down, and it was dark, behold, a smoking furnace, and a flaming torch that passed between these pieces.

And there came forth fire from before Jehovah, and consumed upon the altar the burnt- offering and the fat: and when all the people saw it, they shouted, and fell on their faces.

All the best of the oil, and all the best of the vintage, and of the grain, the first- fruits of them which they give unto Jehovah, to thee have I given them.

Then the angel of Jehovah put forth the end of the staff that was in his hand, and touched the flesh and the unleavened cakes; and there went up fire out of the rock, and consumed the flesh and the unleavened cakes; and the angel of Jehovah departed out of his sight.

And fire came forth from Jehovah, and devoured the two hundred and fifty men that offered the incense.

but with precious blood, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot, even the blood of Christ:who was foreknown indeed before the foundation of the world, but was manifested at the end of the times for your sake,

And the priest shall burn them upon the altar: it is the food of the offering made by fire, for a sweet savor; all the fat is Jehovah’s.It shall be a perpetual statute throughout your generations in all your dwellings, that ye shall eat neither fat nor blood.

And call ye on the name of your god, and I will call on the name of Jehovah; and the God that answereth by fire, let him be God. And all the people answered and said, It is well spoken.
