於時酒政長告訴法老說：『我今天要提起我的罪來了。從前法老惱怒臣僕，把我和膳長下在護衛長府內的看守所裏。我和他，我們倆在同一夜裏都作了夢；我們作了夢，各人各帶着自己的夢的解釋。在那裏同我們在一起的有一個青年人，是希伯來人，是護衛長的僕人；我們向他敘說了，他就給我們解釋我們的夢；按着各人的夢來替各人解釋。事情果然照他給我們解釋的、這樣發生了：我呢、回復了我的職位：膳長呢、掛起來了。』法老就打發人去召約瑟；他們急忙忙地催他出監，他就剃頭刮臉，更換衣裳，進到法老面前。

這些事以後，埃及王的酒政和膳長得罪了他們的主子埃及王。法老就惱怒他的兩個內臣，酒政長和膳長。把他們下在護衛長府內的看守所，放在監裏，約瑟被囚的地方。

人的烈怒終必稱讚你；你必用人的餘怒去束腰。

他因受威壓、受審判而被奪取了性命，他那世代的人誰還思想到他從活人之地被剪除是為了我人民的過犯而被鞭打呢？
