Then she told him her story. She said,“ That Hebrew slave you brought us came to me to rape me.

This is what she said to him:“ That Hebrew slave you brought to us tried to humiliate me,

She spoke to him according to these words, saying,“ The Hebrew servant, whom you have brought to us, came in to me to mock me,

“ Do not spread false reports. Do not help a guilty person by being a malicious witness.

The wicked draw the sword and bend the bow to bring down the poor and needy, to slay those whose ways are upright.

because of what my enemy is saying, because of the threats of the wicked; for they bring down suffering on me and assail me in their anger.

she called her household servants.“ Look,” she said to them,“ this Hebrew has been brought to us to make sport of us! He came in here to sleep with me, but I screamed.

In those letters she wrote:“ Proclaim a day of fasting and seat Naboth in a prominent place among the people.But seat two scoundrels opposite him and have them bring charges that he has cursed both God and the king. Then take him out and stone him to death.”So the elders and nobles who lived in Naboth’s city did as Jezebel directed in the letters she had written to them.They proclaimed a fast and seated Naboth in a prominent place among the people.Then two scoundrels came and sat opposite him and brought charges against Naboth before the people, saying,“ Naboth has cursed both God and the king.” So they took him outside the city and stoned him to death.

“ You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor.

Save me, Lord, from lying lips and from deceitful tongues.What will he do to you, and what more besides, you deceitful tongue?He will punish you with a warrior’s sharp arrows, with burning coals of the broom bush.

Truthful lips endure forever, but a lying tongue lasts only a moment.

Then the high priest tore his clothes and said,“ He has spoken blasphemy! Why do we need any more witnesses? Look, now you have heard the blasphemy.

A false witness will not go unpunished, and whoever pours out lies will perish.
