既歸、婦以是言告之曰、爾所挈之希伯來奴來此戲我、

Then she told him this story:“ That Hebrew slave you brought us came to me to make sport of me.

And she spake unto him according to these words, saying, The Hebrew servant, which thou hast brought unto us, came in unto me to mock me:

This is what she said to him:“ That Hebrew slave you brought to us tried to humiliate me,

She spoke to him according to these words, saying,“ The Hebrew servant, whom you have brought to us, came in to me to mock me,

“ You shall not give a false report; do not join your hand with a wicked person to be a malicious witness.

The wicked have drawn the sword and bent their bow To take down the afflicted and the needy, To kill off those who are upright in conduct.

Because of the voice of the enemy, Because of the pressure of the wicked; For they bring down trouble upon me And in anger they hold a grudge against me.

she called to the men of her household and said to them,“ See, he has brought in a Hebrew to us to make fun of us; he came in to me to sleep with me, and I screamed.

Now she had written in the letters, saying,“ Proclaim a fast and seat Naboth at the head of the people;and seat two worthless men opposite him, and have them testify against him, saying,‘ You cursed God and the king.’ Then take him out and stone him to death.”So the men of his city, the elders and the nobles who lived in his city, did just as Jezebel had sent word to them, just as it was written in the letters which she had sent them.They proclaimed a fast, and seated Naboth at the head of the people.Then the two worthless men came in and sat opposite him; and the worthless men testified against him, against Naboth, before the people, saying,“ Naboth cursed God and the king.” So they took him outside the city and stoned him to death with stones.

“ You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor.

Rescue my soul, Lord, from lying lips, From a deceitful tongue.What will He give to you, and what more will He do to you, You deceitful tongue?Sharp arrows of the warrior, With the burning coals of the broom tree!

Truthful lips will endure forever, But a lying tongue is only for a moment.
