手入、其他出矣、收生者曰、爾何自坼、故命名法勒斯、

手入、他子生矣。收生者曰、爾何坼之、此爾自坼、故命名法勒士。

入手而他子出、收生者曰、爾何如是爭先、故名之曰法勒斯、法勒斯譯即爭先之義

But then he pulled his hand back, out came his brother, and she said,“ What a breakout you have made for yourself!” So he was named Perez.

But it came about as he drew back his hand that behold, his brother came out. Then she said,“ What a breach you have made for yourself!” So he was named Perez.

Then it happened, as he drew back his hand, that his brother came out unexpectedly; and she said,“ How did you break through? This breach be upon you!” Therefore his name was called Perez.

And it came to pass, as he drew back his hand, that, behold, his brother came out: and she said, Wherefore hast thou made a breach for thyself? Therefore his name was called Perez.

But then he pulled his hand back, and his brother came out. Then she said,“ You have broken out first!” So he was named Perez.

But then he drew back his hand, and his brother came out before him. She said,“ How you have broken out of the womb!” So he was named Perez.

As he drew back his hand, behold, his brother came out, and she said,“ Why have you made a breach for yourself?” Therefore his name was called Perez.

And the sons of Judah after their families were; of Shelah, the family of the Shelanites: of Pharez, the family of the Pharzites: of Zerah, the family of the Zarhites.

And the sons of Judah; Er, and Onan, and Shelah, and Pharez, and Zerah: but Er and Onan died in the land of Canaan. And the sons of Pharez were Hezron and Hamul.

And Judas begat Phares and Zara of Thamar; and Phares begat Esrom; and Esrom begat Aram;

And Tamar his daughter in law bare him Pharez and Zerah. All the sons of Judah[ were] five.

Uthai the son of Ammihud, the son of Omri, the son of Imri, the son of Bani, of the children of Pharez the son of Judah.

All the sons of Perez that dwelt at Jerusalem[ were] four hundred threescore and eight valiant men.

And at Jerusalem dwelt[ certain] of the children of Judah, and of the children of Benjamin. Of the children of Judah; Athaiah the son of Uzziah, the son of Zechariah, the son of Amariah, the son of Shephatiah, the son of Mahalaleel, of the children of Perez;

Which was[ the son] of Aminadab, which was[ the son] of Aram, which was[ the son] of Esrom, which was[ the son] of Phares, which was[ the son] of Juda,

And let thy house be like the house of Pharez, whom Tamar bare unto Judah, of the seed which the LORD shall give thee of this young woman.
