手入、其他出矣、收生者曰、爾何自坼、故命名法勒斯、

手入、他子生矣。收生者曰、爾何坼之、此爾自坼、故命名法勒士。

入手而他子出、收生者曰、爾何如是爭先、故名之曰法勒斯、法勒斯譯即爭先之義

But when he drew back his hand, his brother came out, and she said,“ So this is how you have broken out!” And he was named Perez.

But he pulled his hand back, and his brother came out first instead. She said,“ Just look at how you have forced your way out!” So he was called Perez.

But as he drew back his hand, behold, his brother came out. And she said,“ What a breach you have made for yourself!” Therefore his name was called Perez.

But then he pulled back his hand, and out came his brother!“ What!” the midwife exclaimed.“ How did you break out first?” So he was named Perez.

But then he pulled his hand back, out came his brother, and she said,“ What a breakout you have made for yourself!” So he was named Perez.

But it came about as he drew back his hand that behold, his brother came out. Then she said,“ What a breach you have made for yourself!” So he was named Perez.

Then it happened, as he drew back his hand, that his brother came out unexpectedly; and she said,“ How did you break through? This breach be upon you!” Therefore his name was called Perez.

And it came to pass, as he drew back his hand, that, behold, his brother came out: and she said, Wherefore hast thou made a breach for thyself? Therefore his name was called Perez.

But then he pulled his hand back, and his brother came out. Then she said,“ You have broken out first!” So he was named Perez.

And it came to pass, as he drew back his hand, that, behold, his brother came out: and she said, How hast thou broken forth?[ this] breach[ be] upon thee: therefore his name was called Pharez.

But then he drew back his hand, and his brother came out before him. She said,“ How you have broken out of the womb!” So he was named Perez.

As he drew back his hand, behold, his brother came out, and she said,“ Why have you made a breach for yourself?” Therefore his name was called Perez.

猶大子孫，按著家族，屬示拉的，有示拉家族；屬法勒斯的，有法勒斯家族；屬謝拉的，有謝拉家族。

猶大的兒子是珥、俄南、示拉、法勒斯和謝拉，但是珥和俄南都在迦南地死了。法勒斯的兒子是希斯倫和哈母勒。

他瑪給猶大生了法勒斯和謝拉，法勒斯生希斯崙，希斯崙生亞蘭，

猶大的媳婦他瑪，給猶大生了法勒斯和謝拉。猶大共有五個兒子。

猶大的兒子法勒斯的子孫中，有烏太；烏太是亞米忽的兒子，亞米忽是暗利的兒子；暗利是音利的兒子，音利是巴尼的兒子。

所有住在耶路撒冷的法勒斯子孫，共四百六十八人，他們都是勇士。

有些猶大的子孫和便雅憫的子孫，住在耶路撒冷。猶大的子孫有：法勒斯的子孫烏西雅的兒子亞他雅；烏西雅是撒迦利雅的兒子，撒迦利雅是亞瑪利雅的兒子，亞瑪利雅是示法提雅的兒子，示法提雅是瑪勒列的兒子。

亞米拿達、亞當民（有些抄本無“亞當民”一詞）、亞蘭（“亞蘭”有些抄本作“亞珥尼”）、希斯崙、法勒斯、猶大、

願耶和華從這少婦賜你後裔，使你的家像他瑪從猶大所生法勒斯的家一般。”
