Judah recognized them and said,“ She is more righteous than I, since I wouldn’t give her to my son Shelah.” And he did not sleep with her again.

他對大衛說：「你比我公義，因為你以善待我，我卻以惡待你。

以致不再順著人的欲望，而是順著神的旨意，在世上度餘下的時間。要知道，過往的日子，你們做了外邦人願意做的事，活在好色、私慾、酗酒、荒宴、狂飲和律法所禁止的拜偶像之中——這已經夠了。

事實上，神拯救萬民的恩典已經顯明出來了。這恩典管教我們，使我們拒絕不敬神的事和地上的欲望，在今世能過自制、公義、敬神的生活，

大衛回到耶路撒冷的宮殿，就把他所留下看守宮殿的那十個妃嬪帶走，關進冷宮。王供養她們，但不與她們同房。她們被幽禁直到死的日子，終生如同寡婦。

大衛看見那擊殺百姓的天使，就對耶和華說：「看哪，是我犯了罪，是我行事扭曲！這群羊，他們做了什麼呢？願你的手對付我和我的父家！」

你們應當結出果子，與悔改的心相稱！

我們知道，律法上的一切話都是對律法之下的人講的，好堵住每個人的口，使全世界的人都在神的審判之下有罪，

他們聽了這話，從年長的開始，一個接一個地走開了。最後，只剩下耶穌和那站在中間的婦人。

塔瑪爾見示拉已經長大，而自己卻沒有被許配給示拉為妻，就把自己寡婦的衣服脫去，用面紗蒙臉，又偽裝好，坐在伊納因城門口，就在去亭拿的路上。

黑夜已深，白晝近了。所以，我們要脫去黑暗的行為，配上光明的兵器。

那人與妻子夏娃同寢，夏娃就懷孕，生了該隱。她說：「靠著耶和華的幫助，我得了一個男孩。」

於是他們為押沙龍在屋頂上支搭了一座帳篷，押沙龍就在以色列公眾眼前與他父親的妃嬪們同房。
