He went back to his brothers and said,“ The boy isn’t there! Where can I turn now?”

and returned to his brothers and said,“ The boy is gone, and I, where shall I go?”

Then he went back to his brothers and lamented,“ The boy is gone! What will I do now?”

He went back to his brothers and said,“ The boy is gone! What am I going to do?”

He returned to his brothers and said,“ The boy is not there; as for me, where am I to go?”

And he returned unto his brethren, and said, The child is not; and I, whither shall I go?

He returned to his brothers, and said,“ The child is no more; and I, where will I go?”

And they said,“ Your servants are twelve brothers, the sons of one man in the land of Canaan; and in fact, the youngest is with our father today, and one is no more.”

Thus says the Lord:“ A voice was heard in Ramah, Lamentation and bitter weeping, Rachel weeping for her children, Refusing to be comforted for her children, Because they are no more.”

We are twelve brothers, sons of our father; one is no more, and the youngest is with our father this day in the land of Canaan.’

Then it happened as they emptied their sacks, that surprisingly each man’s bundle of money was in his sack; and when they and their father saw the bundles of money, they were afraid.And Jacob their father said to them,“ You have bereaved me: Joseph is no more, Simeon is no more, and you want to take Benjamin. All these things are against me.”

Come therefore, let us now kill him and cast him into some pit; and we shall say,‘ Some wild beast has devoured him.’ We shall see what will become of his dreams!”
